I wonder if MMs are playing their hand here to tempt the buyers back in before results next week.Mind you some guys earlier here were openly admitting getting in on the results day announcement and going to get out before the actual results day.Profitability of the company did not enter into their investment thinking.Best rid of these vultures so we can gain proper from , lets face it , a very good company.Oh let the results be positive!

£8000 worth of shares traded - 7.5% wiped off the value of the company - who needs spread betting! You have to be relaxed about all this - at the end of the day it will all fall to performance and results and let the fluctuations fluctuate!

Hard to understand today.Still a week to go to results and the profit guys are moving out.No statements or profit warnings.I hope the figures are good and these guys will come flooding back with their tails between their legs.( and ofcourse their wallets a little emptier).

Still positive on AUK, I have a good friend who works for IEI part of the Kier group, Kier had a very good year and have done loads of work with Aukett this year.
Having said that I sold 20% of my holding just in case, plus I wanted to buy in elsewhere

Could that be all the profit takers out of the way now?

Two days in a row now when all the action happens virtually a.m. I wonder if this will change in the lead up to the results on 29th.By the way guys - Barclays answer back to my mate on not being able to trade more than 25000 AUK via the NET was because anything larger than that amount would be market moving and they would have to speak to them direct - Having just read your post CUTHY- That knocks that excuse. He is , as I am , continuing to hold and increase his stock. BE LUCKY.

Well amen to that Cuthy. I would have like to have traded this share but i'm in for the long haul as I believe it is a good company . Their mistake last year was to buy a nce big place in the City just in time for the IT industry to crash and not need their services. Still, they won't have lost money buying when they did and they have a large base ofpublic sector customers. I hope to see expanasion in their European busines come the results - they made a lot of acquisitions from 1998-2000 and grew this company very nicely in that time - a p/e of 2 on last year's figures won't hold, but I would expect will still be undemanding. The forward look will be more important however.

Volume does not allways move this share I bought 500000 in blocks of 50000 @5.6 back in December and the share slid down to 4 after about a week.

I think rise is due to the results being better than expected combined with the drop caused by the delay in producing results

Another classic penny share recovery stock to go with;
Wescol, Inveresk, and Chaplethorpe.
Only waiting now for CLM @1.5p to follow!! (I wish)
Please DYOR.
Good luck.

Nice healthy 100,000 buy to finish the day. O.k.Bobalex2000 - as the saying goes a profit is not a profit until it is in the bank.Surprise email from a friend states he was not allowed to deal in more than 25000 AUK over the net - had to be via phone.Anyone else had that prob as I see the deals are getting bigger? If I hear any more I will let you know.

codhead1, shorters? I very much doubt there's a single shorter in this share!

Could the sell have been moved back to 6.75 to deter the shorters?

Don't blame you shorermer1 (apt name!) It's not been worth holding any short term trades on results day for the past 18 months now - good news does nothing, bad news produces a tanking!

I part closed mine about an hour ago at 7p. Couldn't resist the profit.

Still have a few to hold for a while longer. Might even go back in if it falls back enough.

That 50k ? explains the drop in the bid and hour ago. Offer still holding up though.

Not really, I had a look at the trades for the past week or so and it seems that quite a few buys came in at the 4.75p and 5p level. So, either the MM's got caught short or Guppyworld is right. However I got in at 5p so am sitting on a very hefty profit indeed. With results forthcoming, these could motor on up. But with all my trades, i usually never hold on for results.
