04/5/2010 08:40 | Not really concerned by the herd coming to look at day trading Wilba. There is real potential for this to become a triple bagger long term even after the current rise. I guess this all depends on the court case, which either offers great upside or somewhere near were we are now. | clond
04/5/2010 08:30 | ACE will be on the top mover board again for the 3rd time which will get the heard sniffing and this could really fly. | wilba
04/5/2010 08:26 | All buys on open. This is looking very nice. 188T. I wouldn't be suprised if A/F are talking settlement numbers. That would explain the speculation and the "no RNS" situation. | wilba
04/5/2010 08:16 | Bizzare that there isn't some announcement this morning considering last week's share price movement. The Stock Exchange and Take-over Panel will have been in touch so I think we can be sure that it wasn't a leaked take-over. | 18bt
04/5/2010 07:51 | We will know if this was a pump & dump this week. If the buy's continue then news should be forthcoming in the near term. Good luck all. | wilba

03/5/2010 12:42 | Thanks again TheNorth. Without people like you we would be completely in the dark in between formal announcements. One point before lunch: Ace referred to ongoing negotoations re.financing some time ago. Is it too optimistic to think a decision may be imminent?? Best regards again. | dyfiman
03/5/2010 11:36 | No worries dyfiman, it took a bit of digging but i got what i think is the truth, does make sense in my mind too, some more good news in terms of service to bodyshops about to be launched, when i find out more i will let you all know, should attract more claims and referrers that have gone else where over the tail end of last year...well prestige ones anyway. Only nagging question is the convertable notes and how that will pan out as Dav said before. TN | thenorth
01/5/2010 11:59 | TheNorth....... I'd like to thank you for that little but very encouraging summation of the way things are at Ace. It chimes with comments made elsewhere. Do have a good BH all. | dyfiman
30/4/2010 21:49 | Evening all, Ok I have done some digging and this is what I have found, Davius don't take this the wrong way as I have the up most respect for you. In a nut shell fleet is being reduced owing to the pull away from the mainstream arena. Over 85% of the reduction is mainstream. Now this will have a positive affect on the ACE business model alone. Think about it, working for higher daily rental values, with fewer personnel needed to deliver this service will also have an affect on overall profitability. Periods are shorter to a degree but if it means a faster return on the debt then that has to be worth it in the long run. Remember if the third party insurer did not stump up the full amount then it was off to panel solicitors and then the long wait for the cash began. Better to settle at a lesser but more accurate amount than try to claim a large amount only to run the risk of being knocked down in court for duration and need. To sum up ACE are now working much more smarter, less people delivering more in terms of turn over. They are offering credit repair again and the staff have had their pension contri's reinstated by the company... IMO not the actions of a company heading down the pan, but as I say that's my own opinion and nothing more. I think the convertible notes could be a tricky one, so let's wait and see eh? 30/4/2010 15:54 | GNG's worth a look lol TU Tuesday 7am, massive re-appraisal due. | sir brainy
30/4/2010 15:40 | It's all quite intriguing. I think rumours of the company doing well coming from someone inside are bull. Loads of staff made redundant, selling off cars whenever possible, much lower rental periods and reduced rental rates. None of that suggests a rerating. However, the possibility of success against Autofocus is a different matter, a hefty damages claim and increasing rates to a more profitable level can make all the diference to such a lowly valued company. The long term issue remains the £50m in convertible loans, with the market cap at sub £8.5m even after the recent rise, they still have a long way to go to clear that hurdle. But if they do win the case, and are awarded damages, costs and can rerate their charges, £8.5m is way to cheap, even with the loan lingering. | davius
