Those long term div yields will increase invalid if only from their rarity value. Every new takeover may well have an increasingly large effect on the fewer remaining trusts. So yes, it's time to not be underweight those as that extra 1-5% gain on AGR could be dwarfed. But medium/long IR risk is a trickier proposition as compared with a month or two ago. Nothing is easy.

I still think it is wrong that board doesn't announce when they have had takeover approach Surely it is for the shareholders to decide as they own the company It is for us to decide not them whether the offer is fair or not
Another non investment issue for me personally is that the whole idea of UK doctors’ surgeries being owned by a US investment firm is unpalatable.Time to stop these outfits from taking over our companies. Was reading in the Telegraph about the disaster that is Asda following its debt laden takeover by a US investment company- the unacceptable face of capitalism.Anyway, I’m happy to await organic growth in the sp as the year goes by aided by interest rate cuts and in the meantime enjoy the dividends.

AGR has a lot of c1.5% rated bonds These are unsecured, listed and A- rated (Fitch) Just had a look at the prospectus for the £300m 1.5 2030 bond The change of control bites if there’s a takeover and a credit downgrade - so KKR can get the benefit of this super cheap funding The YTM on this bond is just under 5 - so the mark on the bond should be c£50m or 17% premium to par Selling out here for a fraction less than EPRA NAV is pure theft
