01/3/2006 15:58 | Done some digging, and found that Teathers have a pre-flotation research note out on City of London. No dates or values, but it does appear that it will be soon, as the flotation costs are being taken in the current financial year. No new money being raised, with AMN having a fully diluted stake of 21%. If FX Concept deal goes through, and this one floats with a £50m market cap, the NAV of AMN surges above 100p. I'd be happy with that. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
01/3/2006 12:49 | Thanks to jimbo who posted this link on the JDT thread. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
01/3/2006 11:39 | rambutan2 is reporting on the JDT thread that City of London Investment Group is set for a float in April with a likely value of £50-55m. If that is pre new money it will represent a substantial uplift in the carried value. Anyone else heard anything. Rui Sa, Any thoughts/comments? tiltonboy | tiltonboy

17/2/2006 15:02 | CWA1, I stood on the Tilton Road end as a boy(I sit there now), but it sounds better than tiltonmiddleagedblok Shortly before bidding us for AMN stock, the same MM had offered us 150K, but soon came back on to say he now had a buyer. It looks as if the seller had 175K, which the MM took. It wouldn't be a surprise to see a T trade later on if the buyer has manged to pick up a few, unless the MM has decided to take a punt, and put them on his book. The MM is bidding 50.6p for 250K at the moment. If you go on to the JDT thread, just pose the same question you asked here, and I will respond with a few ideas. Just let me know your parameters. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
17/2/2006 14:48 | Hello tiltonboy Thanks for taking the time to respond. I assume then that the boy in the title is a bit of a misnomer then? Sadly I'm too old for emoticons myself but have forced aquaintance upon myself in an attempt to keep up to date with the times... I agree largely with respect to the comments on MMs. Most of the conspiracy theory and "tree shaking" comments border on the risible. Though on occasions, as you allude to, there can be a little "jiggery pokery" put in place. I think, however, that more often than not, a cigar is JUST a cigar. I'll pop over to the JDT thread at some point to see what's what. Yes, OK, I can do the sums on the declarable stake. Thanks again. | cwa1
17/2/2006 13:53 | tiltonboy - Do you have any suggestions of promising looking shares at the moment? Any share not on AIM as i only have an ISA account TIA | oniabsta
17/2/2006 13:39 | 4 on the bid and 1 on offer. share price just ticked up again, looking good, glad i took the oportunity to top up after the recent announcement. | oniabsta
17/2/2006 13:33 | CWA1, Why? I've never hidden from the fact, and if you had been around to read the JDT thread over the last three years or so, you would have made a lot of money on my freely given research, as my clients have. I also support Birmingham City... now THAT is brave to admit to!!!! tiltonboy | tiltonboy
17/2/2006 13:29 | If I might enquire, were they bidding in decent size? | cwa1
17/2/2006 13:28 | Hello tiltonboy I'm a broker. LOL. You must be brave to admit that ;-) | cwa1

17/2/2006 13:11 | From someone who doesn't really understand what you are saying..exactly (ME).How does that happen ? ie the MM came and bid me for them ? Would you consider elaborating to the uninitiated ? no mm has come to me for my shs : - ) | oniabsta
17/2/2006 12:55 | oniabsta, Because the MM came and bid me for them. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
17/2/2006 12:54 | Typical. 3 vs 1 with KLWT moving up as I wrote | cwa1
17/2/2006 12:51 | tiltonboy - "but there is a far larger buyer than me trying to buy stock at the moment. Declarable stake at that" how do you know that? L2 is now 3 on the bid (52k shs on the buy) and 1 on the offer (2k shs to sell) | oniabsta
17/2/2006 12:42 | I've hoovered up a few this morning, but there is a far larger buyer than me trying to buy stock at the moment. Declarable stake at that. tiltonboy | tiltonboy
17/2/2006 12:33 | Market pretty tight. Can only buy 5,000 online but can sell 50,000 @ 50.75. Level 2 is 2 vs 1, with the 1 being UBS for only 2,000 shares. | cwa1

12/2/2006 14:05 | Rui Sa, Excellent appraisal. I can see the shares edging up, as income shareholders see that the company is de-gearing, and that the income stream is likely to be longer than 9 months. A big yield normally means the shares trading close to, if not above NAV. This one looks an anomoly. tiltonboy | tiltonboy |
