i think you are right they want 29.99%
prepared to pay between 45/50p
george robb did say that they weren't preparing a bid
i think it will probably be a last resort

bit of mess really
after getting rid of gr ,the new management appears to have done sweet fa about sorting the assets out and making them sweat

glad i banked my profits a lot further up

either way i think shareholders are set to lose
think gr and his gang are the winners here

Purely FWIW and nothing more really, the online market seems very tight at the moment. Can only buy a derisory 1500 electronically at full market offer but can sell 75,000 back to the market makers at above the bid. Somebody still seems keen to hoover up stock. Maybe the requisitionists are trying to get to 30% cheaply before snapping up the rest of the company?

so presume you are backing current management rambutan2?
as george robb was previous and ousted in december last year
unfortunately as far as i can make out so far , the main problem is that current directors have valued fx concepts at around £16/19m and have refused to except the offer by fx directors for the remaining shares amn control so they in turn have bought shares in amn and now with around 25% of the share capital they can stop the current board of amn doing anything at all
looks like stale mate to me
mike pritchard has emailed me a circular and george says their circular to shareholders will be sent to shareholders early this week

at the moment my thoughts are as follows

amn refuse offer for fx concept from its directors saying its not enough the rest of the stake in the company

fx directors decided that because of the valuation on amn and its share structure it was cheaper to buy a big stake in amn rendering the current board powerless

thus eventually it will have to give in because of the repayment of zero's in oct 2006
new board could win at this egm gaining control of the boardroom of amn
it can then sell the assets off as it chooses which will include fx cocepts basically to cover repayments of zero's

with a valuation of fx concepts being the main investment this trust is basically stuffed
and once fx concepts is sold i guess they won't care how much the rest of the assets are sold off for
any way that is my initial view and wait with open eyes to be proved wrong

having watched amn over the years i would certainly side with the view that this was badly managed previously. costs far too high and port valuation far too dodgy. im very much in favour of a leaner meaner look.

company will not say anything about pending egm or the intentions of the guys who want oust existing board
though my own feelings are that the existing direectors have creamed a bit to much off the top for these guys liking
we will see in due course as these things seem to take about a couple of months

hmmm todays nav shows a big drop from the previous day. Payment of the dividend was 3p so im guessing this is where its gone, although nav has dropped by more than the divi payment.
