Not much market activity after the meaningless vote!

Hopefully in the blue tomorrow on US/China trade talks optimism etc

NY Boy - You probably bought at the right time and the right price when possibly the floor was hit. Well done.
A week or so ago, ASC recovered more than £2 in one single day session ! Amazing !

Bought some back just under 2700p, no idea if it’s the low but seems ok to me for a toe in the water again.

ASC is very sensitive in both upwards and downwards directions due to its low number of issued shares (85 million). Add to that the nervousness regarding Brexit making the market jittery too.
BOO is lower by more than 6% despite releasing an excellent trading update this morning.
In any case, ASC can go either way very very quickly though.
A very sensitive share loved by mainly short time traders.

What warranted this almost 5% drop..?

One final low before a move higher? maybe tomorrow morning if meaningful vote goes pear shape, difficult to predict but looking for some sharp falls on equities but may never happen, if brexit seems unlikely to ever happen, who knows, just waiting on the sidelines for now.

I feel ASC was conservative and could show some improvements to take it over £35 on Trading Update on 15th of Feb.

HSBC have put a Buy rating on ASC last week.

OnJohn - I can see £40 within a month as the correction was overdone (very low PE ratio for such company in on-line business with a turnover of £2.4 billion). ASC is also the least affected by any Brexit outcome. It was already a well established International On- Line Retailer. Funds may be switching exposure from those that possibly could be affected by Brexit to the likes of ASC and Burberry.

Things that convinced me to top up and hold ASC:
1/ Leader in on-line retail - All the others may vanish
2/ Can be taken over by the biggest shareholder (danish retailer)
3/ Lowest PE ratio in the sector - compared to BOO et al.
4/ Sales = Market Cap
5/ Most importantly: Consumer confidence will shoot up sharply if Brexit passes next Tuesday. (Politicians are well aware of the disaster with Europe and the world that will follow if they don't approve it as for example JLR, Nissan, many banks and companies etc. will desert UK very quickly to avoid any possible economic repercussions). IMO the share price will go back all the way up to at least £40 within a month for those who want a quick return.

T 34 - Consolidation in the retail will probably happen very soon. Small fish will be swallowed by the big one to clear the sector.
At this share price level, with market cap = turnover = £2.4 billion, ASC might easily attract a bidder. I own some ASC shares and won't be disappointed if a bidding war happens !
