Liquid, just because a stock has shorting interest does not mean it automatically should fall,

short interest is 5.5% is it, so long interest is 95% ? less traders, doesn't mean anything to me.

the stock has corrected from £70 a share for good reason, but is overdone in my view and a return to £40 - £50 would make sense

sentiment is dangerous either way ! and we all saw what sentiment did here.

News is that
- short interest is at all time high of 5.5%
- used the insurance payout to make the p&l estimate
- the buyout rumours make absolutely no sense
- where's the user growth numbers?
and the share price surges 8% ????

Interesting snippet from Sunday's papers

Hedge funds have bet £260m against Asos by short-selling the online fashion retailer's shares, according to the Sunday Times. Short positions in Asos have jumped from 0.7% of the shares to 13.1% since the start of this year, according to data provider Markit. Asos told the paper the amount of shares out on loan was closer to 11%.

It's a UT - the theoretical price and volume at which the maximum value of open orders could have been settled calculated by a computer algorithm, or something like that. But I don't think it represents an actual trade.

However, the 13m or so of buys at 2,546 at close look real enough - the two sells of identical volume and price look like a roll over to me.

Something in the wind?

Why would that be HVS ? After hours, someone brought £63m of stock. Quite easily the biggest single transaction I've ever seen.
