Morning all. Off subject, but used to be an Asos regular poster, so what the heck. For those that liked my price predictions here, suggest you check out NLG. I've put some posts on their thread. Good luck.

In a developing situation, an immature market if you like, valuing a company is notoriously difficult

ASOS are in a market as old as time- clothing - it was being traded in the stone-age. But in a new-ish fashion, on the internet.

I judge that they will be open to big swings in sentiment, as seen already- but they are a big brand with a wide reach

Dividend? not likely. Their profits will go into getting more sales in more countries around the globe. Grow the business - that's the picture here, imho

One always has to have a reason to buy a stock. Price is one of the reasons obviously however it cannot be the be all and end all.

The stock is trading at 84x its share price. Does not pay a dividend and is open to real competition, if only from longer players in the game e.g. amazon. Amazon do not just sell books and records where they started but now into other situations and I can seem them getting into clothing at some time.

Asos were reliant on the youth sector which is notoriously fickle.

I just cannot see a reason to buy at the moment and, it seems, most people agree with me. Even telbap has taken profit.

Well clearly my last post was wrong. So, are we into the next phase of a long term bounce off the bottom, or just a hiccup on our climb back to previous highs? Top sliced most of my holding (just left my profit as holding) which was about half. So long term, the next year, I will sit back and watch, see where we go. GLA all pong termers here, got a feeling it will be a bumpy road.

Not for the feint-hearted... looking at the long term chart above, the pattern of rises and falls, on the way down and on the way up, is quite obvious. If anyone is trading this and has caught anywhere near the peaks and the troughs, they must be very, very happy.

At each turn in direction, I guess the question of whether it is a permanent change in direction arises - I don't yet see a long term fall for ASOS.

I think that I've said before that my two grown-up daughters visit ASOS first when they're shopping. All their friends are the same - a couple of years out of university, in their first jobs. As the economy improves and as they move on to their 2nd and 3rd jobs, their disposable income improves, they'll shop more and, I believe, they'll spend more at ASOS.

The next generation will do the same. For us, in another generation, we, perhaps, haven't quite yet got to grip with how much younger generations do online and how that will continue to grow.

ASOS is in poll position in the UK with a younger female market and I'm very bullish about their long term prospects!

£3Bn is a crazy Mkt Cap valuation.

Even if price halved from here like Morgan Stanley note advocates that is still a Mkt Cap of £1.5Bn!

This share fascinates me in terms of watching but not buying..

Not a stock for widows or orphans or long term financial planning.

My guess it will be closer to £20 than £40 by September

Looks like it wants to close that gap down at £33.38. Could then be a technical bounce off the 200day EMA before continuing down to £19.95.

If you are a trader then buy low again.
Not easy to call the bottom.
Of course there are other shares which are a better profit investment
if you can find them and take the risk
