2LB agree, the options package shows a great deal of confidence. Aligned to shareholders interest as well

Options are a significant part of his package and set at 6 /8 /10 /12 all in less than two years so he will need 20 plus to make then worth signing up to as opposed to straight salary.

Shows great confidence and belief.

Splitting ceo and chairman roles is generally good for governance. Bird looks like a high quality appointment. I suspect this is going to go up a level now

Good to see TM bolstering his board. Clearly he needed to hand over key day to day work on the likes of BKM as he was doing three jobs essentiallyHe is slowly downsizing the old KLG execs and bringing in expertise to build the company.Look forward to the podcast with Tony

Is Peter Bird related to Colin Bird of Galileo Resources (GLR)?I thought that executive chairman posts were generally thought to be bad form, due to potential conflict of interest?

Don't think so as TM becomes exec chairman. Although as CEO he will be running the show now on a day to day basis but TM will be above him in rank if you like.

No, the Chairman oversees everything and reports to shareholders while the CEO focusses on the day to day operations.

I don't think you'll be disappointed here bud.

Should be an interesting week this week given the below's half/full year results are due, and to see how they believe the copper industry will pan out over the coming months & years.

Wall St Journal - Mining Giants Ride Copper’s Wave:

Anglo American, BHP Billiton, Glencore to report earnings this week on back of copper surge

Some of the world’s biggest mining companies, which have giant copper portfolios, are now poised to reap the rewards, with Anglo American PLC, BHP Billiton Ltd. and Glencore PLC set to report full- or half-year earnings this week.
