Why would anybody pay £144 million for £4.5 million of revenues, that's revenues not profit?

Total insanity. Clearly there are people out there with money to burn.

Instincitvely I am with Evil on this one. However, it may have some promotion left in it...

the legendary "deal with Microsoft" is every promoters line.... Does no one remember DAT group and its supposed software deal with Microsoft for push e-mail.... some vague thing was signed but never really transpired and the shares went from £5 to 10p.

This company has so many warning signs all over it you wonder why anyone would invest... of course no one really knows what they do.....

Damn those pesky rogue traders.

I'm not sure the Credit Agricole increasing there position is bullish, in fact it may well be the opposite. They were buying sub prime and CDO's too!

Credit Agricole Cheuvreux International Ltd don't seem too worried. They increased their holding from 3.11% to 4.73% in a matter of days.

Look at the balance sheet. What do you think? Cash burn and cash running out or not?

If you look at the balance sheet this is running out of cash, and try to raising cash in these markets when banks won't even lend to each other is no mean feat.

EK not sure how you can talk about promotor manipulation with some of the stunts you pull. You seemed a little upset when a newpaper decided not to promote your short with an article you wrote (I assume to cover your loss) which later appears in the tips stable. Now that is manipulation - straight up.

Any Chance,

I also like to know what I am doing. It is merely that philosophically I accept that decisions have to be made where one cannot know what one is doing.

Dear Evil

Perhaps we have now identified our differences. You are a gambler and I like to know what I am doing. Understand clearly and assess the risks involved, be well informed and on that basis make decisions whether to invest or not.

Good luck and please remember there is an open invitation to join me and everybody else at Artilium's AGM in two years time!

Any Chance,

You are entirely right to underline my ignorance of technical matters. However, it is a fact that there is a shortage of stock to borrow with which to short. This constitutes circumstantial evidence of manipulation.

The record of these tech stocks going wrong in stock market terms is pretty impressive.

As a gambler, I am prepared to take my chance that ARTA is a dud.

Dear Evil

I read your comments on Artilium with interest. Perhaps a slightly more balanced view is in order.

1. First of all the operating business of Artilium reported a profit before tax of £281,000 for the year. The losses you refer to relate to discontinued operations (sold last year), option cost (i.e. no-cash items) and other one off costs in respect of the re-listing.

2. Microsoft has chosen the Artilium technology to be a key component of its unified communication platform. I understand that MSFT expects to have a at least 100 million unified communication users in 3 years (not very difficult if 300 million people today already use MSN Messaging services). If poor Artilium is only going to be used by 5% of those people the company would be making at least £60m profits per annum. I don't need to spell out what profits would be if they hit 30% penetration

3. Now that is just Microsoft there is of course Cisco and other major technology leaders, the telco players and the BDO sector and Artilium confirmed that they are making good progress getting these other players on board

4. Perhaps understanding the global technology landscape and its anticipated evolution isn't really your thing but I cannot stop thinking that all these highly talented / proven individuals join a company if there was not something very special inside

I bought shares today and will buy again tomorrow on Friday and next week. Rest assured I will be delighted to take you and your entourage (all expenses and wine paid) in two years time to O2 Millennium Dome where Artilium's AGM will be held because other venues in the UK are simply too small.

Would seem that way, bought in this morning at 181.17p on the bounce, out at 198p at noon, simply no telling where this will move next.

The buying from off the lows has been exceptional. Closed out my short as its clear someone knows a lot more about whats going on with ARTA than I do. Feels as though the share price is being manipulated imo.

I found this quite amusing:-

Artilium N.V., the Group's Belgian subsidiary, reported a profit before tax of
£281,000 on a stand-alone basis.

If I were them I would keep very quiet about profits and instead let the market value them on hope alone. Buyers are still keen to come out on ARTA as the shares have just bounced from 165 to 180p. They need certifying imo unless they know something we quite clearly don't.

Market is being very generous even now with ARTA. We have only slightly retraced the pre-results squeeze higher. Results were mystifying as they show no reason why its rated as it is. Yet there are still large buyers of the stock. It really is a struggle to figure out why they are buying. Any ideas Simon?

There seems to be lots of excitement in this company and its share price ..I am rather surprised there are not more posts here. I must say the current valuation does appear somewhat toppy so the results will be very interesting reading

Any Chance,
That sounds appealing - any chance to put some numbers on it to give a feel for the market opportunity for this company. The website is flashy but low on financial detail. If i am not mistaken, the June 07 year to be reported on Sept 12 would have sales of cEUR7m, so clearly the market is already factoring in exponential growth.

thanks,

m
