seems like someone tried to offload 5.3m shares in the auction.... Does not seem to be the best way to get rid of your holding...

To add a little fuel to the fire, taken from the www.Trisent.com website.

"Due to a large new Mobile Presence project we expect to have a number of new vacancies in Dunfermline. These vacancies will include positions for qualified and highly experienced: C# Software Developers, SQL Developers, .Net Test Engineers and a Development Manager."

ARTY-I keep wondering why ARTA do not provide a challenge to G.B. vehicle tracking outfits.Minorplanet,Cybit,Trafficmaster etc.One would think they could provide a robust alternative,at least.

Thanks Mud,
Well worth reading through again.

I can't help but feel that the growing success of the iphone, particularly the latest 3g version which is selling like "hot cakes", is going to be the stimulus for network operators to start talking to Artilium, so as to be able to compete with Apple and generate incremental revenues.

The iphone offers two features that also play heavily to Arta's strengths ie. Location based services utilising a GPS type facility and secondly the ability for 3rd party software developers to create content for iphone that is then downoladed (generally at a cost)from the istore.

This will prove a stimulus to phone manufacturers to create more sophisticated feature rich phones and give the network operators the opportunity to tap into the new capabilities and monetise this by offering new services.

Reading your earlier link again reminds me that there should also be good money to be made utilising the Trisent technology for straightforward tracking of company vehicles/ logistics operations via the network, paticularly as it is clearly an extremely cost effective solution.

Thanks ARTY.
ARTA flagged up,a few months ago, that it was to increase its investment in Trisent.Whilst the following link has been posted previously,it is well worth re-reading,alongside posting 105.(imo)

ARTILIUM INVESTS IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN SCOTLAND

Investment Expands Artilium's R&D into Innovative
Mobile Presence Capabilities for Its ARTA Mobile Services Platform

Artilium, a leading telecoms software developer of Microsoft-based carrier-grade software
for mobile network operators, is to increase
its research and development activities and create 30 new jobs at its operations in
Dunfermline, Scotland.

The new investment is being supported by Scottish Enterprise with a general Research and
Development grant of £750,000 in conjunction
with investment from Artilium.

"We chose Scotland as the base for our planned expansion in development capacity because
of its highly-talented workforce, the
excellence of its academic institutions, and the business environment we discovered there,
which is clearly supportive of enterprise and
innovation," said Artilium Chief Executive Officer Robert Marcus.

Artilium's office in Dunfermline holds key intellectual property for its Tri-cell
Intelligent Location System technology, the backbone
for the mobile presence capabilities of its ARTA Mobile Services Platform. Dr Gordon Povey,
the VP of Mobile Development within Artilium,
was previously an academic in communications technology at Edinburgh University and remains an
Honorary Fellow at the university. He still
maintains strong links with local universities including placement opportunities from students
within Artilium to foster the development of
talent within the area.

Enterprise Minister Jim Mather said: "The creation of 30 new R&D jobs at Artilium
underlines Scotland's reputation for innovation
excellence and resourceful, inventive people. The Scottish Government is creating an
environment in which more and more Scottish based
research and development can flourish. Enterprising projects of this kind can help us
turnaround decades of economic underperformance
through increased, sustainable economic growth. I wish all at Artilium every success in
developing this project."

Welcoming the investment, Linda McPherson, Regional Director East at Scottish Enterprise,
said, "The decision by Artilium to invest in
its R&D activities in Dunfermline is an indication of how highly Scotland and its talent is
regarded - and with its high growth potential,
it is exactly the kind of company that we want to encourage to stay in Scotland. The company's
leading-edge technology has placed Artilium
at the forefront of its field and we are delighted that Scotland will play a role in taking
this technology and reputation still further."

Mud, I reckon I can "confidently" predict it'll be somewhere between 30 and 50p, unless of course we see some extreme volatility. lol

low liquidity and no one understands clearly were the earnings potential is for the company. This combo results in the share price being all over the place, in my view. FY results due somewhere in September, i guess - could hopefully give a helpful steer.

As an aside, I am also fascinated by the number of inter session stock auctions and price monitoring extensions that take place with this share. Anyone got any idea as to the underlying reasons as to why this should be ?

You are just too sharp for me ARTY. 750,000 shares through the market in the past hour or so-within minutes of my bemoaning "no volume".I must be jinxed;having just tried to buy a few ILX,only to see the stock gain 20% whilst on the phone to the broker.Probably for the best anyway as the future looks a little bleak.

There is no trading volume,so volatility rules.Whilst I bought @ 40pence and the paper loss is unwelcome, should the shares hit sub 20pence then buying more would have to be a consideration. Most minnows are taking a smacking so the weakness cannot be considered partcularly worrying.
