04/9/2016 16:59 | I think that the comments made by the Japanese Government at the G20 meeting make interesting reading in the context of the ARM takeover. How can any credibility now be attached to any undertakings given by Japanese companies re uk job protection after such a statement. If I were in Government I would be looking very closely at this acquisition. | ygor706
02/9/2016 19:58 | Just to be clear: * It became impossible to trade shares normally on the market when it closed at 4:30 pm this afternoon, and impossible to trade them at all on the market when dealings were suspended at 6 pm. * The "Effective Date of the Scheme" is expected to be Monday: that's the date that you actually actually cease to own the shares and start to own the cash instead. * Delisting (i.e. cancellation of the listing of the shares) is expected to be on Tuesday. I believe this is basically just a formality that is needed when a share leaves the market and doesn't affect what you own or what you can do, but might well affect information supplied by market systems and hence things like broker portfolio listings. * Payment of the outstanding interim dividend is expected by Monday 12th. * Actual payment of the £17/share takeover proceeds is expected by Monday 19th. Broker systems vary about how smoothly they handle such situations. In particular, I've known shares subject to other scheme-of-arrangemen Gengulphus | gengulphus
