24/6/2016 20:58 | Usually a nice northerly breeze to go with it though :-) ARM Holdings can see positive impact from sterling move, says JPMorgan JPMorgan's European Technology analyst Sandeep Deshpande said the main impacts of the Brexit vote are currency impacts, possible tariffs and economic impacts, but noted that economic impacts are still hard to call at this point and that tariffs are likely to be less important for tech companies. Among the European tech companies he discusses, Deshpande noted that ARM Holdings (ARMH) will see a positive 1.5% impact to EPS for every 1% move in sterling. The analyst added that he does not expect ASML (ASML) to see any reportable impact from currency shifts and called out STMicroelectronics (STM) as having the greatest currency exposure among semiconductor names. | philanderer

14/6/2016 10:03 | Liberum still at it ;-) ARM predicted to miss revenue growth targets Micro-chip maker ARM (ARM) is not expected to grow revenue next year as royalty softness in 2016 takes its toll. Liberum analyst Eoin Lambe retained his ‘sell’ recommendation and target price of 650p on the shares, which fell 1.4% to 952.8p yesterday. ‘We believe ARM may see further royalty softness this year but that it has flexibility to use its licensing backlog to offset this,’ he said. ‘However, this flexibility is likely to diminish in 2017 if the backlog continues to decline. We therefore view the acceleration in revenue growth that consensus models in 2017 as unlikely. The tailwind from higher royalty in smartphones eases in 2016 and new markets are unlikely to become material before 2018+. We are 8% below consensus earnings per share in full-year 2017 rising to 22% by full-year 2020.’ | philanderer

04/6/2016 09:07 | ARM Holdings plc (NASDAQ:ARMH) the British chip designer whose technology is found in most smartphones, says it can become a genuine challenger to Intel Corp. for server customers from next year even though it has less than 1 percent of that market. While the challenge to Intel’s dominance in servers is “in its infancy,” ARM-based systems are being trialed by global cloud operators, Chief Executive Officer Simon Segars said at the Computex trade show in Taipei. The company is targeting a quarter of the market by 2020. hxxp://www.kcregiste | retailronnie
04/6/2016 08:20 | Steptoes Yard, Yes, your posts 1960/1961 were of some use, and I thanked you for them. The same is not true of your post 1963 - it's of no use for the issue I was looking at, i.e. how important iPhones are to ARM. Nevertheless, my response in post 1964 was an overreaction - sorry!
