Wonder if Maverick followed the advice of the Libertum analyst. Next time a Libertum analyst says something I will do the opposite to make big money.

I'm a loooong time ARM holder. So should I sell now at £17? Is there anything worth holding on for now?

Pleased for shareholders, however a very sad day selling the jewel in our tech crown to the Japanese. We've lost a best in world class company.

P/E ratio of 70, tech always on the change so that last weeks big news is not next weeks.

A good price.

If the UK cannot get $24bn for a business and create more than 3,000 jobs with it.

God help us.

Rather UK retained the limited businesses like this that we have. Farnborough showed just how out of it we are. Even Switzerland build aircraft while we buy foreign.

Just after 8am might turn out to have been the best time to sell, but I agree with others that it would be surprising if there are no other potential bidders lurking.

Softbank got ARM on the cheap, if ever there was a company that was a one way bet to a significant upside in company profits and share price appreciation it was this one.

Shame we have lost another Great British company. Intel must be kicking their boots.

I bought in at 272, 494 and 790, so I am happy with the solid return over the last 6 years, but worried this is another example of Brexit costing jobs in this country. I don't buy Softbanks quote that jobs will remain in the UK, how many times have we heard that before.

Newbie here. Lucked out on this one - better off holding until the deal goes through or selling now and locking in the profit? Thoughts?

Pure speculation of course but ARM is best in class, £ is v.low & the Co is significantly exposed to what could be one of the tech growth sectors of the next decade so suspect we may get several weeks of further rumours.
Can't believe that a few other obvious potential suitors have not run their eyes over the company in the past. Just a question of whether they would be prepared to get into a bidding war given premium to Friday SP's that the current offer was placed at.
