Typo56,
That's what the RNS says, either it is wrong or the MM's have missed it.
Such mistakes are very rare but the fact that the current divi ex date is in September may have confused things.
Thank you and well spotted.

Isn't it ex-dividend 2.25p today? That's not reflected in a price drop.

In my opinion the share price is where it is has more to do with the general malaise in the sector than anything to do with AR. which has performed well and on fundamentals looks cheap and we also know they have a "bob or two" available to increase their assets :-)

We can hope so :-) As you can see from the graph the AR. share price has at times made quite rapid movements but at present there seems little sign of that.

Archipelago Resources - interim results, broker reaction

Results fully met my expectations, the market response is disappointing. However, there are many urgent sellers in precious metal stocks and today gave some holders of AR a chance to liquidate without trashing the share price This could likely be funds experiencing redemptions and just needing to sell whatever is to hand that currently has a sufficiently supportive market to absorb some quantity. If so, it's a pity they couldn't wait for it rise a few pence first! The story is good one and there should be some excellent reviews and comment in coming weeks.

We expect the company to maintain its strong production and cash generating profile for the remainder of 2013."

Rating the stock a 'buy' with a target of 68p, broker Canaccord said Archipelago remained its "key pick", given that it has the lowest costs among "our coverage of US$930/oz (2013 all-in costs versus peer average at US$1,270/oz) and strong cash generation as a result".

"Exploration upside also remains well in place with further reserve upgrade likely in the next annual revision.

"We should also note that with the US$1,150/oz gold price used in the reserve calculations, the mine plan looks robust even at the current gold price," said analyst Dmitry Kalachev.

I would agree with that Juju, the markets reaction so far makes no sense at all.

Maybe Molatovkid is right there is a big order being filled.

Gold bugs,

Every $10 move higher and nearer to $1400 will squeeze more GOLD BEARS/shorts into submission. So I have repurchased Archipelago Resources AR. Today's good results & profits on lower costs prompted my purchase. Plus paying a dividend. Looks cheap to me BWDIK!! GLA c2i.

Ok...if this was all selling, then the price would have collapsed.
So it is all buying, why hasn't it gone up more?

My bet: A big order is being filled.

This same process happened with Coms - it was held in position for quite a while while a big order was being filled.

Amongst a host of others, there is a single buy order showing on L2 for 84,000 shares at 39p

It looks like a rush for the exit juju...but I'm not sure it is all it seems. I did a dummy trade and when it was showing 41.5p to buy I was quoted 40.8. So those sells could be buys.
