Weijian Shan Named Group Chairman and CEO of PAG
ARC Capital Holdings Limited ("ARCH" or "the Company") (AIM: ARCH), is pleased
to announce that on 21 June 2010, Pacific Alliance Group ("PAG") confirmed that
Weijian Shan will partner with PAG to become Group Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer effective 1 July 2010. ARCH is a member of PAG, one of the leading
Asian alternative investment managers.
Mr. Shan joins PAG from TPG, where he was a Senior Partner co-managing TPG Asia.
He most recently closed the landmark sale of TPG's controlling stake in Shenzhen
Development Bank.
As CEO of PAG, Mr. Shan will work closely with PAG's investment teams to
coordinate and optimize synergies across the group and to shape and oversee
PAG's strategy and development.
David J. Kim has also recently joined PAG as a Partner and will assume the role
of Chief Operating Officer of PAG's private equity business. Mr. Kim was
formerly Head of the Asia Financial Institutions Group at Nomura International
(and previously at Lehman Brothers) and has worked with Mr. Shan as an advisor
on a number of transactions for over a decade.
Allan Liu and Rachel Chiang of ARCH's investment manager, ARC Capital Partners
Limited, will continue to focus their efforts in managing the ARCH portfolio as
Managing Partners of PAG's private equity business.

Weijian Shan was a founding partner of Newbridge Capital, which he joined in
1998, and Senior Partner of TPG Capital following Newbridge's integration with
TPG in 2006. He co-managed Newbridge Capital and subsequently TPG Asia.
Mr. Shan led a number of landmark transactions for TPG/Newbridge such as the
acquisition of Korea First Bank and Shenzhen Development Bank. He also led
transactions in other industries such as energy, telecoms, technology, real
estate and retail.
He serves on the boards of Bank of China (Hong Kong), Taiwan Cement, Shenzhen
Development Bank, among others. Prior to TPG Capital, Mr Shan was a Managing
Director of JP Morgan, concurrently serving as Chief Representative for its
Beijing and Shanghai Offices. He was formerly a professor at the Wharton School
of the University of Pennsylvania. His other former employers include the World
Bank and Graham &
James Law Firm in San Francisco.
Mr. Shan received a Ph.D. and MA from UC Berkeley, and an MBA from the
University of San Francisco. He studied at Beijing Institute of Foreign Trade
(now named the University of International Business and Economics) and also
taught there as a faculty member.
David J. Kim joined PAG in March 2010 as a Partner, focusing on the private
equity franchise of the Group and will assume additional responsibilities as COO
of its private equity business.
Mr. Kim has over 20 years experience in investment banking, including 15 years
at Lehman Brothers in New York, Los Angeles, Seoul and Hong Kong. Mr. Kim was
previously Head of the Asia Financial Institutions Group at Nomura International
and Lehman Brothers where he originated and advised on numerous advisory,
restructuring, capital raising and principal transactions for leading
governmental agencies, state-owned enterprises, financial institutions and
private equity funds throughout Asia.
Key transactions on which Mr Kim has advised include TPG's sale of Shenzhen
Development Bank, Newbridge's acquisition of Korea First Bank, Woori Financial
Group's acquisition of LG Securities, the US$8 billion LB-Woori NPL JV, China
CITIC Bank's US$6 billion IPO and serving as financial advisor on the IPOs of
China Life and ICBC.
Mr Kim received a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Yale College, an M.S. in
aeronautics from Caltech and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
