01/9/2010 12:00 | XD the 11p Interim divi today. Serious resistance @ that 440p level. Hoping we can find support at the psychological 400p level coinciding with the 200day MA, then break through that ceiling and on to the 550/600p level: | skyship
06/8/2010 14:39 | Latest update "Arbuthnot offers a good and growing yield covered by earnings from a diversified range of banking businesses. In H110 the retail bank continued to be the star performer, with a good contribution from acquired portfolios and a strongly growing organic loan book. The investment bank is upgrading its staff while market conditions remain tough. The private bank should see profits rise when interest rates rise (end 2011e) and it earns a positive return on its investment in the structured products business, which management has indicated is now profitable". | rockafella2

14/5/2008 16:13 | Arbuthnot Banking says 'minimal' Q1 effect from credit crunch on banking units AFX LONDON (Thomson Financial) - Arbuthnot Banking Group Plc. said the credit crunch has had a minimal effect on the trading of its banking units, while Arbuthnot Securities was hit in the first quarter but trading has improved since March. Trading during the first four months of the year at banking units Arbuthnot Latham and Secure Trust Bank has been broadly in line with the second half of last year, the group said in a pre-AGM statement. It added that liquidity in both businesses continues to be very strong, and the banking lines in Arbuthnot Latham continue to be unutilised. 'Trading within Arbuthnot Securities was adversely affected by market turbulence and reduced deal volume in the first quarter, but trading has improved since the end of March, and we have seen the return of some deal flow,' Arbuthnot Banking added. It added that Arbuthnot Securities' chief executive Mark Brown will step down from the role and will be replaced by current deputy Neil Kirton. Brown however will stay with the company as managing director. TFN.newsdesk@thomson | lr2
23/1/2008 12:03 | there seemed to be little impact from US problems if I read the statement right. but the statement dealt only with profit before exceptionals and we know there were going to be exceptional costs in 2H for the Swiss op and Secure Trust Bank. Let's hope they were not big! | bigbertie
