Aptitude Software Group plc issued a positive trading update yesterday. APTD made good progress in 2021 with new business success across all the Group's key regions together with the continued development of the Group's product strategy. Overall performance was in line with the Board's expectations for 2021. Annual Recurring Revenue for the core Aptitude Software business grew by 10% on a constant currency basis in the year to £34.4 million, including the acquisition of MPP Global it was £41.8 million. Excellent progress has also been achieved in 2021 on a series of strategic product initiatives to provide the Group with sustainable growth opportunities for the future.

So solid performance delivered and more growth to come. Profitability ratios are all top quartile for the Software & IT Services market, the balance sheet is strong. Valuation is the main stumbling block, forward PE ratio at 43 is bottom quartile even for the high multiple tech sector. This rich valuation may also explain why the share price lacks momentum, roughly flat over 12 months. APTD is a solid, growing business, but there is no rush to buy here, it is a share to monitor for now...from WealthOracleAM

mg ... I look forward to holding this for a long time

very long term hold for me... in fact over 10 yrs now!. It used then to pay a special dividend

looks like a 15k buy has gone through - not mine tho!

You've had 40p of any special dividend alreadySorry did you mean the price has gone up by 40p because invariably the price will go down tomorrow. If they're going to return almost £50 million to shareholders then ideally it would be by payment of a special dividend. Or am I being thick

I had a quick look and didn't see how they intend to return cash to shareholders, any thoughts hopefully a special dividend I Find share buybacks don't seem to boost share price

Sale of MFS for £51m.

" Assuming Completion on 30 June 2019, the Net Cash Proceeds arising from the Disposal are expected to be approximately £48.4 million.

The Aptitude Board intends that the Company will return a significant majority of the Net Cash Proceeds to shareholders, unless more value creating opportunities arise and subject to prevailing market conditions"

I'm hoping for a one off special dividend.70p would be nice.
