I don't think APN is currently a consituent of any FTSE UK Index series.Based on current details, it would be expected to be added to the FTSE Small Cap (and All-Share) with effect from opening on 23 December 2024, with a decision about this announced after close on 4 December.

Pentland Group indirectly held 17.6% of APN via its 55% ownership of JD Sports?
Or has JD stake in APN fallen via this ipo?

Hmmm.I think I read somewhere that profit margins are about 30%APN has a number of highly credible investors to back up the scalability opportunities for this brand, unlike HUT which seems a bit of a one man (ego?) brand meThe APN founder seems a lot more grounded than MM or his mum at HUT.I suspect you've set a record for being the earliest poster on a new board to be filtered.

Is anyone of the opinion that Pat Ryan took this down deliberately? Did APN really have a cats chance of surviving based on so called record revenues? What was the real reason for the failure of the company? Was it the fact that they ran out of cash and the banks refused to lend due to the credit crunch. Or were they always a busted flush and we just got sucked in to the press releases claiming they were wonderful???

What happened on Friday seems odd. Independent Newspapers say in the morning they are selling their stake in APN in Australia and our APN price crashes. Why not then issue a statement to clarify the position. Conversely if APN is in trouble it seems a coincidence that based on rumours its share price plumments at the same time as the Independent announcement.

The company may need financing as this seems a regular event but if this was via a placing it then seems odd to suspend at less than 1p when a denial would have seen the price rebound. It may be that following the fall certain questions where asked of management and they ended up bringing forward the bad news. On balance it doesn't look very positive unless we get another announcement on Monday.

The announcement in itself should indicate it was never this APN......"Independent News & Media said on Friday it was looking to sell its 39.1 percent stake in Australasian radio and newspaper group APN News & Media Ltd to reduce its debt by about 800 million euros ($1 billion)."

Even if you didn't notice the "News & Media" and just saw APN, the value of the 39% sale is about 250 times the current 100% value of APN.

LOL!
