01/12/2005 09:48 | surrfin - hopefully Apace can move on from here and deliver the goods - I believe they are in a very good position to do so - a shed load of cash, excellent pedigree management, an aggressive business plan and already generating cash/profits. With regards to the placing price, this certainly hasn't been the first time, how shall i put this, that i've seen a companies share price "move" to a level where institutions will play... my guess is, that is what has been behind the downward pressure over the last couple of months... | macansy77
01/12/2005 09:34 | macansy77 - 1 Dec'05 - 08:15 - 309 of 310 Alright I will now have to admit they have at last come up with the dosh, and I thank you for your input and have to admit you were certainly correct about the time frame. Alan | surrfin
01/12/2005 09:29 | 15p - C u next tuesday! | malg
01/12/2005 08:51 | Looks like some of the recent weakness was due to institutions knowing what about todays announcement. This has tripled the companys' size. Now it's out of the way perhaps we'll see more interest - certainly looking good today. | godolphin
01/12/2005 08:15 | surrfin - the directors have stumped up £1.6m of their own money, it's not often that happens with a placing! - what the RNS has failed to mention is that the issue was well over subscribed and unfortunately also fails to mention recent deals... with regard to it being the "biggest pipe dream" since the dot.com boom, i think that is a little unfair and more than a little misguided.... | macansy77
01/12/2005 07:51 | RNS out re placing at 15p-directors have finally put thier cash on the line. Not happy that they paid 15p when most of us had to pay around 40p in old money but at least its a bit of progress. | tonyx
30/11/2005 17:14 | do mean mean like keeping thir websites up to date. looks like nothing has benn happening since results. | e-venturer
30/11/2005 16:52 | hi "macansy77 - 23 Nov'05 - 10:47 - 298 of 305 lets just say that someone is going to put their money where their mouth is and fairly soon at that..." Just where is "their mouth" to which you claim they are going to put there money into? I only wish I had put my money where my mouth is-----it would have stopped me saying "open a position in Apace" the biggest pipe dream since the dot.com boom, without the upside!! "Fairly soon" must be subjective also. | surrfin
24/11/2005 08:56 | penguin1 - last thing! He's a likeable and from what I remember very forthcoming guy so I'd imagine you'll have a lot to remember/write down! | macansy77
24/11/2005 08:54 | penguin1 - forgot to ask, do they plan to announce quarterly trading updates and pre close updates to keep the market informed and also provide a useful buffer for the share price in quiet periods. Take a look at Leadcom for an example of this - very useful tool for investors as they know that they are going to be kept regularly informed which i feel is an important bit of investor relations PR particularly in a company like APA which in its infancy as a listed company is likely to have a sizeable PI base... (and we all know how nervous us PI's can get!) Also regular RNS's on deals would be nice!! | macansy77
24/11/2005 08:46 | penguin1 - he's already recognised the fact/problem that APA is largely unknown within the investment world, any chance asking him if/how they are going to remedy this and whether the house broker (or indeed any other broker) is going to produce some coverage of their business I think at the moment there is an issue with understanding what Apace is about and that their business plan is not transparent enough for the layman to understand... | macansy77
24/11/2005 08:41 | terrific post macansy. i am putting a lot of time into researching this company, I think there is huge potential upside. I may even put in a call to Mr Stoessel. Any questions anyone wants answered? | penguin1
23/11/2005 16:13 | penguin1 - not sure, to be honest can't remember although the question was raised at the time... the company has, since it's inception, been adding various businesses to the group, some new, some bought and some picked up from the carcasses of failed ventures (seem to remember that Stoessel had cherry picked the decent parts of certain failed companies from the recievers for next to nothing) - all contained within the umbrella of Apace as a whole and benefitting from the synergies that exist between them... Impressive for me is the quality of management throughout the group including the latest additions - i also like the fact that they've taken a leading position in a rapidly emerging european country, Bulgaria, again for next to nothing and i'm assuming that they're looking to do the same with the Czech Republic... I was a little confused originally as to Didier's plans for the company and how all the different parts would fit together but i think i'm beginning to see where he is going with this - to try and build a major european media force effectively via the backdoor and very much on the cheap but somehow enticing a management and specialised staff structure capable of pulling it off... I remember at the time what vision he had for the company and where he wanted to take it in terms of market presence and market cap - and it's way up the scale from where we are today... (mind you, when have you met a CEO that hasn't had such visions!!) However, another thing that stuck with me most was the idea of branded content - ie advertising embedded within tv programmes as opposed to having ad breaks. Changes in UK advertising law means that this is now possible and may well eventually prove the death knell for tv advertising and ad breaks as we currently know it. Apace has very much a first mover advantage in this area and that could prove crucial and very profitable... (have a read of the interim statement and you will find a clue in there..!) I think it is possible to see that Apace is building the blocks to enable it to provide multi market tv programmes, branded content tv, exploitation of music/tv ip and catalogues, advertising consultancy and exploitation of emerging geographical markets to create such a market presence... Forecasts for the year ending 31/12/2005 (which apparently are still very much on course) show a pbt of approx £1m - current mkt cap approx £4.2m and with over £2m in cash at last count... all looks pretty undemanding but at the moment there is a large element of the unknown and a lot to be taken on faith which will probably explain the very low rating. let's hope that will change! | macansy77
23/11/2005 14:37 | thks macansy77. how come this stoessel chap left the industry he was in? and went into an unrelated area? this co was founded in 2002, any idea what's been going on since then? and just how big can this company become? looks very interesting, just a bit opaque on the details. | penguin1
23/11/2005 11:02 | macansy77-thanks If your post was responsible for the 2.9% rise, please post again and again... | surrfin
23/11/2005 10:47 | surrfin - lets just say that someone is going to put their money where their mouth is and fairly soon at that... u could say that things are gathering a pace (groan!) | macansy77
23/11/2005 08:04 | has anyone ever met the management? | penguin1
22/11/2005 21:24 | lol! Looks like this is the bottom though. | encarter
22/11/2005 15:34 | If they would be prepared to issue me one certificate per share then even with consolidation they would make cheap wall paper! | 59david
18/11/2005 16:28 | What apace of poo this is turning out to be. | tonyx
