11/11/2005 19:21 | Those poor directors, been trying to buy £200k worth all day and couldn't! | godolphin
11/11/2005 18:20 | yep i think its barclays also. i have just emailed them a copy of the reply from apace and asked them to sort their act out. they are usually very good and i am expecting a phone call of them on monday morning to apologise and to say that they have sorted it. it will be interesting to see what answers surrf gets when he speaks to Martin. i for one am looking forward to what he has to say. im also please with the last line of the email from apace: 'I hope to sort this out on Monday morning and look forward to seeing your holding grow!' | julian1976
11/11/2005 18:13 | To be honest, it sounds like Barclays fault to me. My broker (Iweb) finally got it's act together this afternoon, correcting the holding amount, and allowing it to be traded (albeit with very tight limits). | english bigblls
11/11/2005 18:06 | ok i have had two very swift replies from martin. here they are: Thank you for letting me know. I have asked our house broker, Seymour Pierce to look into this as neither we nor our registrars are aware of a problem. kind regards Martin Martin Johnston Finance Director Apace Media plc 01435 873829 and a short time after i had another: Dear Julian I have spoken to various people: Our broker, Seymour Pierce, who confirm that all the necessary arrangements were in place with Crest for trading of the New Ordinary Shares to start at 8.00am on 9 November. Trading has taken place since then (although not a lot); Our registrars, Capita, who are unaware of a problem and do not know of any request from Barclays for "a new line of stock" (whatever that is); Barclays - unfortunately Charles McIvor had gone home and nobody else seemed able to grapple with the problem. Charles has been left a message to ring me on Monday morning. I have had a phone call this afternoon with another shareholder experiencing problems dealing through Barclays but have not heard of any other problems. If you speak to Barclays perhaps you would point out that the company has not been contacted by them (nor so far as we can tell has our registrar). I hope to sort this out on Monday morning and look forward to seeing your holding grow! kind regards Martin Johnston Finance Director Apace Media plc im impressed with the quick reply and it seems someone is at fault but they are both blaming each other. hopefully monday things will get sorted and the share price will get moving. | julian1976
11/11/2005 17:12 | Thanks for your efforts surrfin. They are appreciated. | english bigblls
11/11/2005 17:11 | All I was very surprised to be told that I was the first person to call, they appeared "surprised" but appreciative of the fact I had taken the trouble. It is the first time I have spoken to anyone at Apace, I am sure it will not be the last. If I have any problem with any PLC, i am trading, I'll never hesitate to call or e-mail for answers, they expect it.Remember the common thread that runs through us and why they listed, they want our investment. | surrfin
11/11/2005 16:55 | julian1976 and All Just had call from Martin Johnson, finance director: "Unable to help as to why shares cannot be traded, doesn't make any sense that Barclay's are having trouble". Cannot understand no shares traded "exept the very strange 3 trade today", yesterday had no problem trading, but then he did use their own broker, so not surprising. Made mention of Julian e-mail from glasgow, will now contact Barclays and get back to me. When I will enquire for his opinion on lack of movement. | surrfin
11/11/2005 16:38 | Julian1976 Why the Apace is showing the biggest spread on my portfolio @18%ish after consolidation and when can we expect to see some movement in the share price? Not that they can answer these questions but I feel I have to ask, just to let them know we are here and care. I think thats the reason, or maybe I have had such a bad week etc and want a reason to blame anyone but myself!! | surrfin
11/11/2005 16:24 | lol nice one surrf. last time i emailed them it took 5 days before i had a reply so im not expecting one anytime soon. by the way what were the 'other matters raised'? | julian1976
11/11/2005 16:22 | All I have sent Apace an e-mail but I have also telephoned and spoke with a (sorry didn't get her name)female who handles people like me! Share dealing department. Anyway response: utter confusion as to why we are unable to trade and other matters raised.....will look into it and get back asap. I in turn will obviously keep this bb up to scratch on any call back. | surrfin
11/11/2005 16:02 | good idea. i think the more they get the better. help them realise we are here and want it sorted. | julian1976
11/11/2005 16:00 | Well done Julian1976 I'll not bother sending a copy but I will still send my e-mail. | surrfin
11/11/2005 15:52 | surf i have sent them a copy of the email. | julian1976
11/11/2005 15:52 | surrfin i did it within 30 seconds of my email from barclays. hopefully once they get this sorted the share price can start to move north. | julian1976
11/11/2005 15:51 | julian1976 With your kind permission i'll copy your Barclay's e-mail to them? | surrfin
11/11/2005 15:51 | Can you ask them why so far consolidation has had the opposite effect to what they intended - trading has ground to a halt. | english bigblls
11/11/2005 15:50 | julian1976 Thanks for copy e-mail. So its Apace who have yet to get their act together. An e-mail to them is now in order. I'll do that, if no one else has done it yet? | surrfin
11/11/2005 15:48 | just out of interest has anyone been able to trade these since the consolidation? | julian1976
11/11/2005 15:14 | if anyone is interested regarding the problems with barclays i have just received the following email from them. it would appear the problem is with Apace and not barclays: Dear Mr Williams Thank you for your email. We are waiting for the company to send us the new line of stock and neither the company or their registrar has been able to confirm when we'll receive this. Until we receive the stock you won't be able to deal in the shares and I apologise for this. I will contact you as soon as I find out when the new line of stock will be added to your account. I hope this is helpful and if you require further information please call us on 0845 601 7788*. 11/11/2005 15:07 | probably waiting for the spread to narrow like everyone else. i thought we would have seen much more action here this week and its very frustrating and boring to say the least. | julian1976
11/11/2005 14:55 | Come on, I want to see this start to move. How about those two new Directors pull their fingers out and start buying that £200k worth of shares each they promised? | english bigblls
11/11/2005 13:22 | Yes, the whole point of the consolidation was to improve the spread and hence trading, but the MM's being the greedy b*stards that they are are putting a spanner in the works. | english bigblls
11/11/2005 13:19 | I think there is a particularly poor spread at the moment not helping things. | flashheart
11/11/2005 13:18 | i thought the consolidation may have attracted more interest than the current sale of 2 shares that we have. | julian1976
11/11/2005 10:33 | still cant trade these online with barclays. | julian1976 |
