well obviously i agree TR, and in fact added another 7000 yesterday on tsx at 2.17, ridiculous price. as it now new isa year will add more again if it stays around here

venus alone is prob worth todays price if its as big as estimated, and nigeria worth what you said, plus all others, plus kenya (deal imminent)

on preowei, i did read that, but think its more just a poke by the govt to get things moving, obviously it will get done, but as its so easy to do in theory, they should just get on with it....but would get more excited when companies announce it

now, if we can just swing the kenya deal so we get a free carry and maybe 10% left that would be fantastic for us

are you going to todays investor meet at 5pm ?

"Upstream understands Venus holds AT LEAST 3 billion barrels of recoverable oil — out of an estimated 9 billion barrels of in-place resources — while Graff’s resources are thought to be more modest at about 400 million barrels.

"Oil in One informed source suggested TotalEnergies could bring on stream a 150,000 barrels per day FPSO as early as 2024, supporting about 20 production wells (with 600 to 800-metre horizontal sections), plus water injectors and gas injectors.

Phase two could see a 220,00 to 240,00 bpd FPSO up and running a few years later."

THIS is how governments should act taking care of this opportunity getting huge income both from tax money and oil and from national oil company share.

South Africa IS ALSO in need of gas and its Ministry wants to get their (Total Africa Oil - AfricaEnergy) LUIPERD and BRULPADDA discoveries to produce ASAP. See above.

Quite strange only a few value investors get the message whereas the rest of the short sighted traders in the market are just looking on last report while unable to understand the huge values (yes already today) regarding truly HUGE discoveries not in one but in THREE countries where each will create massive value not this year but they will around the corner.

Will be very interesting to follow how they will be able to cover shorted 295,730 shares (as of 15 FEB), all TSX. Not that much but still. Venus, not rumours, but real official statments might be here in just a few days. The rig leased only until March. They will either have to cover before the share takes off or they might have to do it parallel to a share buyback program and a time when it becomes obvious to most investors this share is a shining bargain.

NOTE the details of the shareholder capital return program will be communicated with the company's full-year results on 28 February 2022. (today and two more trading days to cover)

Those who aren’t investors are missing out on something very special.
And that is a world class asset off-shore Nigeria that (unhedged) has the ability to generate the entire company’s market cap in free cash flow. All at extremely low operating costs. The producing Nigeria assets have opex costs of $5.2/barrel. The company’s net interest in Nigeria (via 50% ownership in Prime Energy) is currently generating significant cash flow (Approx. $500M USD) at a current hedged price of $69 Brent with hedges rolling off in late spring (Brent prices currently trade approx. $90/barrel). Market cap ($750M USD).

If you are a value investor - how could you NOT invest in this one?

I think some of the trouble with oil shares, is, investors have one eye on Brent?

Makes them jumpy

in fact its 15% insiders (almost certainly lundin grp) and 9% mutual funds

highest is fidelity and their top is 3% ish, with few other fidelity funds maybe getting to total 8%

that could really do with improving, so really its tons of private investors pushing this

oh well, their loss

off out cycling......
