They adjust their tgt prices behind the shr price otherwise they’d look really daft. You are right, they appear to have no clue, some were recommending to sell when it was £6 and now they say buy. They should be able to model how the copper price will affect the bottom line and what the copper price is likely to do and then set their target.
For these reasons I never take any notice of broker recommendations. In fact I think in most cases taking the opposite action is more profitable.

You have to do your own research, for example EVs take up to ten times the amount of copper than petrol engined cars, internet of things, electric boilers etc.

seeking approval from Chilean authorities for a $448 million
tailings disposal project, according to a government website.
* The project consists of “enabling infrastructure and carrying
out the necessary activities to transport and conduct

Tesoro Central, Tesoro Noreste and Esperanza branches”
* NOTE: Centinela, Antofagasta’s second largest operation, is
the result of the 2014 amalgamation of the Tesoro and Esperanza

Aspers raises his target to 1750. We hit 1600 when the price of copper hit $7600. The firecast for copper in 2021 is to reach $9600 as we see a shortage in supply.

Copper price hasn’t yet reached last high set 10 yrs ago
Then you could get a further breakout
Electric vehicles require 6x amount of copper
Then there’s all the other appliances and increase in middle class in rest of world population all requires copper in new properties etc etc
Best close your short, this has much more mileage
