"The terms of the transaction remain confidential"
Does this mean an embarrassingly low price?

Good post. More interest in AAL assets. Definitely far from a firesale. They are getting good prices and will reduce the debt

South32, listed in Australia, London and South Africa, is looking at other uses for its cash, including two potential acquisitions, he said.

One of those is Anglo American PLC's minority stakes in its manganese operations. South32 expressed interest in the stakes earlier this year. Mr. Kerr wouldn't disclose the other business South32 is evaluating, although he said it was a smaller asset.

you will be surprised Wad...even a small percentage of shorts will have a massive influence on the share price due to the volume of shares traded per day. if they are selling into uncertainty it triggers stop loss and has a compound effect.

Shorts have stayed down at around 2% for the last 6 weeks , they can't have much influence on the price even if they all closed tomorrow. But bet they don't.

Shorts should make the most of this and close out.

All news stories over the past week have been quite positive and yet we are 75 points down so far since last weeks 910 high - typical... Need some ALL news soon to stop this freefall.

Time to change house brokers to. Get some new motivation on board seeking investors. This mob have been hoovering up commissions and doing very little over the last 2 years...

The flip side is the longer it takes the better the price they will get as prices recover...

The market placed a takeover target of 1600 in March '15. With the SA Government accumulating via their private investment sources I wonder if their intention is to make an offer before commodities recover too much... Every share they buy in this range is half price if they make an offer.

There is no selling pressure in this range. Just have to watch the shorts. The longer news takes the more tempted shorts will be to open. Ultimately they will get burned though as soon as news comes...

I'm under the impression it will go straight to £10 upon good news. if they drag this sale on any longer this will start creeping down.

Shorts went up to 2.04% a couple of days ago. Today's trading shows buys outweigh the sells. I think this is going to flutter here for a moment before the big rise straight to 10
