Too complicated, I don't think it will go ahead and I don't think anyone else will get involved either. I can see why a mature mining company would want to buy a fledgling miner for their future resources and economies of scale but a mature miner buying another mature miner doesn't make sense to me. |
By and large, sells and buys are accurate but at the price point turns, they are often mis-recorded both ways. I have had sells recorded as buys and v.v. when I have been quick enough on the price turn. |

Yes, it means sells are delayed and so appear as buys. |

The price drop is a bit weird though. Can only explain it as some sort of market manipulation given there is such frenzy around a potential deal. |
It's the only way that this can go forward given Anglo's rejections. At the same time, I expect a little sweetener with regard to the price. It would be a surprise if this doesn't go ahead after all the shenanigans. |

"A successful takeover of Anglo American Plc by BHP Group could trigger a $4.3 billion outflow from South Africa, potentially weakening the rand, according to JPMorgan Chase & Co. analyst Catherine Cunningham. This outflow stems from developed-market index funds selling unbundled stocks if the deal proceeds. Despite Anglo rejecting BHP’s $49 billion bid, negotiations continue, raising the likelihood of an agreed deal and impacting Anglo American Platinum Ltd. and Kumba Iron Ore Ltd. shares."
