Strikes me that all today's large ( 6 figure ) trades today have been buys; even this morning's auction trade.

The obvious answer is delayed trades but then you'd expect large trades later, you can spot them because the trade time isn't sequential with ordinary trades. Instinctively there's a lot of delayed trades on AMER but I don't see much coming through.

There's no certainty they are all sells and probably not the way the share price has moved.

Amazes me all you people consider yourselves clever/knowledgeable enough to comment on Harbour strategy, the Permian Basin, the speed of drilling, etc.

(There are one or two exceptions to the above not including me)

the trades dont match the order book again, so there is still a secret seller.

Is this possibly a new RH tactic because he is upset by the recent good news and resulting rise??

If you assume 6,000,000bopd are produced by Shale at way below cost...where is the oil GLUT?

Taking 6,000,000bopd out of oil production would create a massive shortfall. So producing at any cost shows the desperation and fanned by increased calls to stop hydrocarbons being used at any cost, using any pretext....because viable hydrocarbon production just isn't there to produce and satiate world demands which are still rising.

Eddie. oil would have to reach $100 and stay there for shale to break even. the hype around it is for one thing. Keep the idea of an oil glut in focus.

all the hype all the comments about $30 or $15 costs proven tripe from these companies full accounts.

They've enjoyed zero interest rate loans, they've sold billions of dollars of assets, tapped up more and more funds to follow a pyramid drilling scheme that will leave thousands upon thousands of wells dripping oil, poorly maintenance, because the companies will have to pretend they are producers to avoid paying $5m a well decommissioning.

Just do the maths.

Decline rate 65-70% in the first year.

How many well does it require to produce 1,000,000 bbls: Answer 1,000 at IPP of 1,000
A well costs $5m. 1,000x$5m = $5,000,000,000

Within six months production drops to 500,000bbls.
Forced to drill another 500 wells so another $2,500,000,000

Year one wells you then have 1000 legacy wells producing 300bopd, 50 6 month old wells producing 500bopd

Production 300,000+250,000=550,000bopd, so you have to sink another 450wells at $5m apiece another $2,250,000,000. ALL THAT AT END OF YEAR 1.
then you run out of sweet spots or find drilling is lowering the IPP of not only new wells but existing ones.

Red Queen Syndrome makes shale one giant Ponzi pyramid scheme

It might be clever if Russia & Saudi reduce output and drive the price up
