10/9/2019 11:15 | Yesterday Khalid Al-Falih, Saudi Arabia’s energy minister, was given the boot as the kingdom’s ruler Mohammad Bin Salman is unhappy with oil languishing at around $60 (£49) per barrel as it has led to heavy debt piles for the country. It is understood Saudi leaders want to ramp up Opec output cuts in order to push prices higher and Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman, a half brother of the king, has been brought in to oversee the strategy. Oil prices have not been at $100 per barrel since 2014 and the royal family want to see oil up around that mark so Saudi Aramco’s float can finally get away. Fund managers said Aramco won’t reach its desired $2 trillion valuation unless the price fully recovers. | ![]() westmoreland lad

09/9/2019 17:06 | The board have around 60 million shares between them, so every 1p on the share price is an extra £600,000 to share out. I am sure they don’t need me - or anyone else on this thread - to point that out to them. Presumably Oxy have been prospecting the Amerisur assets since late 2018, so they should have a reasonable idea as to the potential. | ![]() blackdown2
09/9/2019 12:42 | From Join the Dots on LSE I came across the linked recently released video over the weekend - nothing new but presents the case for investing in S American oil asserting variously that it could be become a "Production Powerhouse" the location for "Oil's Next Big Boom". Meanders from country to country, with Argentina the biggest focus but Colombia gets a good mention. Principally the CEO of Occidental (at 5minutes +) mentions that they have been their fir 37 years and Colombia provides their highest margin oil production - lets not forget occidental are a very efficient and profitable outfit, to be the best they have is really impressive. James Park of Geo Park also drools over Colombia and S America in general and states wells have an IRR of over 500% (primarily in snippets from 18m 35seconds onward). I find the possibility that both of these companies have not expressed an interest in bidding for Amerisur assets is ludicrous - Amerisur assets are a perfect acquisition target for both expanding companies. Also the Bloomberg video suggests other majors are waking up to the potential - so who knows Amerisur assets could present a neat entry vehicle to a buyer none of us have yet considered. At 500% IRR on wells it is a crying shame out drilling campaign on CPO-5 is all but pathetic as it is needed to retain the option of no deal (best way to get a deal according to JB), no matter whose fault it is, it is a disgrace - we should be reaping very substantial profits by now. | moneylender

09/9/2019 02:42 | Thanks for that King-Baller. I take it you are referring to this piece: The Colombia segment starts at 5.08 minutes/seconds into the piece. Let's hope this is a good week for AMER investors. Results on Thursday. There will be news of some kind that is for certain! | ![]() lauders
08/9/2019 21:53 | There’s a new Bloomberg documentary available on youtube, called Oil's Next Big Boom. Occidental and Geopark CEO’s are in it, and are both bullish regarding Colombia. Re-affirms the desirability of Amerisur’s assets. Exciting next few weeks upcoming! | ![]() king_baller

06/9/2019 18:56 | On a positive note - OBA on 05.09 - 4,626 barrels. If CPO-5 is producing 2,300 barrels from 3 wells, then we should finally cross the magical 7,000 daily barrels for the interims! | sji
06/9/2019 18:48 | dayway123 - I was replying to someone else and you popped up, UNINVITED, and commented on my post to someone else! And repeating the phrase "you are unqualified to do so" without pointing out what I said wrong will not make your comment true! | sji
06/9/2019 18:43 | Sji I can’t recall ever asking you that question. I do recall asking you not to evaluate the company worth and stated you were unqualified to do so. And judging by your last effort I would appear to be in order. | dayway123
06/9/2019 18:10 | dayway123 - so, stop asking the same questions. END | sji
