This is what we have been waiting for .. anything over 35p would be great and we get rid of the poor management and missed targets year in year out.

Any news in the recent drills and new prod coming? It would be nice to get Prod up to 7k+ to strengthen the sale of amer.

Not remotely surprised - it had to come sooner or later.

ONGC know what's in CPO5...so do AMER
OXY know the potential in Puts...so do AMER
AMER have a strategic asset in the OBA
etc etc

Reckon the OBA is worth 10p.

Who knows where this will end up but fair value is way above the current share price If multiple parties involved; OXY, Geopark, ONGC etc then expect plenty more upside from these bombed out levels.

Bottom line - even if the Board choose to rject the final offer, we now know the real story. There is clear valuation upside to the company's assets and portfolio way, way above a 12p SP!!

RH did sell right down: per Morning Star at some point to just a fraction of 1%.

He did us all much collateral damage and had minor impact on those he intended to attack: a Pyrrhic victory, it would now appear.

It won’t get sold for £200m that’s for sure. More likely double that.

"Amerisur said the review has been initiated after interest in the company and its assets from peers, " peers being plural

There's a proposal for the company as a whole and also 'other indicative proposals'.

Are the latter proposals being made by the same company that is looking at the company as a whole or different parties?

Looks like a potential bidding war on the horizon with "multiple parties" interested.....

Amerisur Resources, up 23%. The oil and gas producer has started a review of the company, including a potential sale, with some interest already received. Amerisur, with a market capitalisation of GBP170.2 million, was worth more than four times that. Amerisur said the review has been initiated after interest in the company and its assets from peers, as well as the "high level" of activity in the Colombian oil and gas sector. "The company confirms that, at the time of this announcement, it has received a non-binding proposal regarding a potential sale of the company and various other indicative proposals regarding the sale of certain assets of the company," said Amerisur.

Well Michinoko's last 3% (taken off another major shareholder) was at 25p so they will not be happy at less than that and they do, at 11% have a large stake and large say in the matter.

Any IIs still holding placing shares are also in at 25p and that was back in March 2016.

It probably sets the minimum at which any offer could start.

The market timing is good, but it would have been better if ONGC had made more progress in CPO-5.

OXY the obvious favorite: not sure if GTE have deep enough pockets and sale of the whole of the company's shares is preferable (tax down to individual's position) to sale of the parts (which is then subject to company taxation).
