Even a sniff of hydrocarbons at Indico will be good news and help delineate the field, but as it was under drilling existing fields anyone's guess as to how far it extends or if its pockets

FA, precisely, that's why I said. Too much rests on its success to save the day for this year.

I'm not sure market is attributing much value to reserves anyway

The reason it's several kilometres away is clear, so again this is development and appraisal so they need to see whether the reserve is contiguous.

Absolutely no point in having a well next door to a producer because whilst it might push production up it does nothing to calculate field reserves, and in some cases can reduce the production in the adjacent well, so it makes much better sense to drill kilometres away whether it succeeds or not it helps map the field.

I doubt ONGC are in any hurry to have another adjacent producer, and might even go out of their way to hit the periphery of the field or overshoot, as they are mindful they could own 100% of it, rather than 70% so I doubt they will be in a hurry to bolster production first and instead will go for the data acquisition.

Too much reliance on Indico, now to save the day for this year. What happens if it's a dud, after all it is several kilometres away from Mariposa and targeting different fault traps even if it is aiming for the same sands, maybe more concrete there as well.

JW will soon say "sod this" and sell up. His Ironveld investment just went ballistic.

Was it (a crazy drop) though when considered in the context of AMER's plans for a multiple well 2018 programme? We wait 8+ months for them to get started then the first one's a dud against company's primary N sands target. T & U sands may save the day but 37.7mmbo N sands P50 resources will need to come out of figures anyway. Par for the course in current market.

A crazy drop yesterday for an oil company.

Whether the well will produce time will tell, but still a crazy price drop.

Amerisur Resources Plc,announced results from its Columbian Platanillo-1 well, after drilling to a total depth of 8,465ft Platanillo-1 has not recovered hydrocarbons. The N sand which was the primary target of the well was found to contain strong development of limestone and calcareous sandstone at 63 feet total thickness but logs indicated no hydrocarbon production potential.Although it failed to identify hydrocarbons at the N sands Pintadillo-1 had confirmed a potentially commercial hydrocarbon-bearing reservoir in T and U sands, stated to be more than 10ft of net pay and offer reserves upside and potential bolt-on production volumes for the Platanillo block. The well has now been cased and cemented and the company intends to initially perform flow testing of the T sand.Amerisur do however have a fairly active drill program during the next six months which offers the company a chance at some superb upside with wells CPO-5 and Putumayo-8 spudding shortly, followed next year by Putumayo-9 and Putumayo-12.Amerisur shares were down sharply today but investors may see opportunity ahead of a highly exciting drilling campaign.

Apeman, take it up with value the markets!

Actually the double bottom is correct @ 13.4, we broke down below that today but found support on the base of the falling wedge.
