AMER being selected as a share pick for 2017 by various tipsters, here's hoping we do get near to the 45p target most of them have set. All depends on drilling results and confirmed production levels. Q1 will be key if they don't get production up through OBA I think a lot of investors will have had enough, myself included.

All very encouraging Dave cept it's cantor fitz view. Hoping for good new year for Sure. Got a few last thing Friday just sub-26p after being stuffed with the last lot bought at 31p. Live and learn Amer style eh?

PS where are the investec and Hargreaves hale effulgent recommendations, of old?

Amer is still a good prospect given all the positives that should unfold in the coming year. Let's hope unlike this year, we're free from the obstacles that have plagued it.

Ditto. And I had 2m prior to Lehman bros debacle and other fsa matters. Does gc give a monkey's conjugation? Answers on a penny black. Now scratching round for cat food. Meanwhile ex-friends walked away with a nice few bob thank you very much, thanks to my insights. where are they now? Which beachin SE asia or are they still in SW 11. I always remember the beggar outside the 42 tower in EC2 with 'ex-broker' sign on his begging bowl. Deja vu?

My post wasnt clear..I purchased approximately 100k shares from 2008 -2012,,when the share price hit 65p my holding equated to £65k it is now 25 p and now equates to 25k. I always said I would I would get out at 60p then believed GC and his nonsense...my fault I got greedy.

I am still in profit as I average approx 16pps but still galling!

francis: if you read the RNS of Dec 16 you would have seen this spud news flagged up then: "The second infill well, Platanillo 24 will be spudded on approximately 22 December." Zero surprise.

Are these panic updates from BoD based on our strings or were they always timed as i dont remember anything about drilling 12 as soon as Dec?
