15/11/2016 13:40 | EME. Ptheww! Another major disaster of a decade ago. Who was it who rec'd at 98p? Destroyed me and reduced my holding here by default. What was lying CEO name? No problems eh!? So here we are. I will retain here and hope EME send me something in retrospect but doubt it. Stick with what you know. Edit.. anyone else who gets Kelly's pittance welcome to forward me some so as I can get some more Amer. Always the optimist. | valentine
15/11/2016 13:15 | There's been a wall of money paid out to EME shareholders this week, some of which has been invested here. ''It is expected that CREST accounts will be credited or cheques despatched (as appropriate) in respect of the Capital Repayment during week commencing 14 November 2016'' | westmoreland lad
15/11/2016 13:06 | We've broached 28p anyway dave..and paying 28,4p albeit small amounts. Maybe an order in pipe from Ollie Rex's sub? | valentine
15/11/2016 12:12 | Low volume but must be some blue lights flashing somewhere. | bigwavedave
15/11/2016 10:14 | I wouldn't disagree with any of M's comments except to reiterate that charts are only a tool. They can be used as a mirror. When you get too enthusiastic, carried away with a combination of hope and expectation, its handy to look and ask yourself "What does the dispassionate market think?" The charts will tell you that, albeit a little behind the action and may stop you buying or selling at the wrong time. For a share where you've carefully researched the narrative and the back story, they can just act as a checksum but for a share where you jump in quickly in the hope of turning a few bucks, they can provide a quick and useful guide as to when its time to get out. So, as M says; not a religion to be followed blindly, but a frame of reference, an alternative reality perspective. AIMOBTWTFDIK? Q. PS, Could cross upwards through Tenkan & Kijun lines today which would suddenly transform weak Bearish to strong Bullish.......time will tell :) | quidnunc
15/11/2016 09:36 | Will we see an increase in production passing through the OBA to 5000bpd before the OPEC meeting? | dayway123

14/11/2016 16:43 | I wrote this in 2008, Lucy, not much has changed my stance since that time, so here it is, slightly edited for relevance: Charts 'reflect' the story and the shared psyche of investors...it's ALL in the shareprice. It's interpretation that's difficult, particularly for AIM stocks which lack liquidity, traded volume and suffer from manipulation. Then there's the hyper-active 'sentiment' of investors/traders which cause the manic-depressive peaks and troughs. Or just the steady, low volume, no news decline we're all used to. There's the odd technical bounce, but 'real' positive price action needs positive news to feed sentiment. I agree, it is in the area of large-caps, and particularly markets, where charts are most useful...and where I have made a living for many years, initially using futures and options, and latterly binary bets. For me, charts are a tool, plain and simple, not a faith or a religion. They're a guide to establish probabilities, not absolutes. I get passionate when charts are misunderstood. They have their uses and their limitations (such as here in the AIM market). They are not a crystal ball. I get angry when charlatan chartists on these boards misrepresent chart patterns for their own ends. Some innocently, others cynically attempting to manipulate. Hope this helps; I'm sure TDH or Q will put a different slant on things. M | marnewton
14/11/2016 13:14 | I must firstly confess ignorance of most of these charting terms, but one factor stands out to me like the proverbial sore thumb. Charts which operate independently of outside factors are relevant - say Unilever, Royal Mail etc. however Amerisur's ups and downs must also correlate with the oil price. To take heart from moving averages, rising and falling channels and whoever ichimoko is without adjusting for the poo surely misses the point so why are they relevant here? ( I'm not trying to be contrary, simply ignorant) | lucyp00p
14/11/2016 11:03 | I'm a little more hopeful on the charting front, Q. It looks like the two rising averages (50 & 200 day simples) have leant support...now we need to break resistance in the form of the descending channel at 28.40p. Daily indicators are on the turn and there's a lovely dragonfly doji on the weekly chart...though the weekly indicators are not as favourable. ATB M | marnewton
14/11/2016 09:35 | A second bearish signal from the Ichimoku, albeit a weak one. Let's hope that the narrative out-trumps it. Q. | quidnunc
14/11/2016 01:58 | Dark Horse, agreed far more upside to come potential multi bagger. | juuunx2
14/11/2016 00:28 | Lets hope our persistent seller is still about early doors. Could do with some more AMER at discounted rates. | westmoreland lad
13/11/2016 18:24 | If we get even average success from the forthcoming drilling programme then the share price will exceed previous high when you combine the saving from OBA with the increase in reserves. On top of that you can add the capital value of the OBA if we get permission to use it at capacity and I can't see why we won't in time. In my simple terms that means we are worth 65p+ inside a year and therefore our take out price would have to be £1+This might just persuade a major to run the slide file over them now & seize the opportunity particularly when the peace dividend benefits are added in.Just dreaming but I struggle the see a downside for Amer as even if we hit dusters the full OBA probably justifies current price? | the dark horse
13/11/2016 16:54 | I'm happy but Farce weren't going back to war anyway | lucyp00p
13/11/2016 15:11 | Brilliant, i wonder if they had already got the second option agreed if the first didnt work. Anyhow this is seriously good for everyone and will really help cash to flow back into Columbia and Ecuador, wonderful news for AMER. | squiresquire
13/11/2016 15:07 | Indeed, we just now need to know when we go from 1.5kbopd to 4.5 to 7.2 thur OBA pipeline.. I was expecting that news before End of this year. | oilandgas1
