Nice to see a thread with charts.
I bought in mid September - down a little on sp, but already
in line for a second hgh yield dividend.
If they can maintain the dividend, I'm happy to hold, reckon
sp could take a few years to make any decent gain.

Alumasc Group plc announced that the directors have approved an interim dividend per share of 3.25p (2008: 3.25p) which will be paid on April 1, 2010 to shareholders on the register at the close of business on March 5, 2010.

This is a profit warning albeit with a silver lining that things are improving. I am surprised there was not a bigger markdown

Bit surprised the share have been marked down so severely. The statement doesn't sound too downbeat. No indication that the dividend would be cut so it will be a case of waiting for the results to find out if it remains safe.

Small companies dividend trust (SDV) increased their stake in the last few months which shows improved confidence in almasc maintaining its juicy yeild on a forward looking basis.

Better than an ISA provided the dividend is safe. An acquisition would be the next step to move forward.

I spotted the director buys and the fact the compamy is modestly valued perhaps towards the bottom of its cyclical range. Looking back over the years the Company seems not to have made great progress, one of those types of organisation that always slightly disappoints shareholders but has a soild business.

I see 2 reasons for the volume:

1) John Lee comment about the dividend yeild being just covered anhd should be maintained thus yeilding 10% right now,

2) also couple that with directors topping up on Friday:

Mr Paul Hooper 20,129 shares (0.06% of the ordinary shares
in issue) acquired at 95p per share

Mr Andrew Magson 15,000 shares (0.04% of the ordinary shares in
issue) acquired at 95p per share

Mr Richard Saville 10,000 shares (0.03% of the ordinary
shares in issue) acquired at 97p per share

Following these acquisitions, the total interests of these directors and their
connected persons in the Company's ordinary shares are as follows:

Mr Paul Hooper 260,619 shares (0.72% of the ordinary
shares in issue)

Mr Andrew Magson 20,000 shares (0.06% of the ordinary shares in
issue)

Mr Richard Saville 23,000 shares (0.06% of the ordinary
shares in issue)
