My guess is they have bigger fish to fry elsewhere than worrying about the share price here as bod won't sell their shares anywhere near this price, and it won't be high enough even with PR to justify raising money through rights issues etc. So instead of doing PR they're just building up the business. As long as they carry on doing that, I guess it's not too bad although it really wouldn't take much PR to lift it up quite a lot.

They said they were going to appoint a UK broker months ago but we have heard nothing, the last broker had a revised target price of £4.20p if I recall, some coverage would be beneficial.

The current price is balmy on all counts, there was a chart produced by a well respected investor in the sector which clearly showed ALTN was the lowest valued (by a fair margin) gold producer on the LSE.

Given the current exchange rate and last 6 months profitability there is a PE ratio of just under 1. I really don't understand this share price. If you multiplied it by 4, it still wouldn't make sense.

You cannot deny the company is performing exceptionally well operationally and financially, in current markets it's like water off a ducks back however.

Brokers suggest that ALTN should be valued far higher but so far the shares have slipped from a well-established range of £1.10p to £1.75p to current levels.

The BOD seem oblivious to the share price and their PR remains atrocious, they even reneged on the 'promise' to do a online presentation after each quarter.

At some point the market will turn, there is value here for buyers who are patient.

Decent results as expected from the Q1 & Q2 production updates.

Researchcentre123 your questions been answered:

"The Company has benefited in the current period from the strength of the US Dollar, (which is the currency in which revenues are received) against the Kazakh, at the 31December 2021 it was 432 Kazakh Tenge, and the dollar has averaged 448 Kazakh Tenge in the six month period. The current rate in September is one US$ to 485 Kazakh Tenge."

The mining prepayment has been emphasised too.

Nice and steady and looks like the loan could be secured very soon.

he Company had a successful 6 months with milling of ore exceeding 300kt generating an increase in profits to US$11.6m (2021 US$9.3m). The principal KPI's saw an increase from the prior period, the Company is continuing to grow and develop in line with its medium-term plan.

Market down, gold price down...but then again, this is a dollar asset with dollar up against sterling and company costs in a currency that has also declined. Any opinions anyone on this?

Am wondering when the half year results will come...in the past 3 years they varied between 2nd Sept and 30th September. Can't be long now. I wonder if yahoo finance will start adding them this year? They seem to just have the annual results in their financials.

We need something left field on the corporate front or else I fear this goes nowhere for 2/3 years until Divis are an option.

EBITDA is pretty much a given for the next couple of years so the results are also becoming largely superfluous.

POG clearly weakening so not a lot to shout about here at present.....all a bit underwhelming!

Bad news if the war happens, bad news if it doesn't seems to be the opinion of many here....I think things are good for Altn and they will get better

But still not good for the share price in the short term. Which is what I was responding to.

Russian weakness could unravel in all sorts of unpredictable ways. Georgia could get interesting.

Understand.. 3 months ago, I would have agreed with you, but now Russia has little ability to start another war, and even less appetite from the Russian people. Apart from which a war in Kaz would be a nightmare for Russia..another Afghanistan situation.

I meant it in that Kas attempting to pull further away from Russia, while Russia is perceived to be weak. This could elicit a military response to force Kas back in line.
From an investment point of view the further Kas moves away from russian influence the better. However, there are risks.

Why would they? The Azerbaijan / Armenian war has been going on for decades. Nothing to do with Kaz. If anything, recent news from Kaz has been positive. Their stance on the Ukraine war, distancing themselves from Russia, commitment to elections. I'm much more comfortable with a Kaz investment than I was 6 months ago...

Google maps have updated the satellite image for Sekisovka

But the only ground level photo with ALTN is a 360 degree street view image of Altyn Baurgold's office car park from 2017

I think the management are rushed off their feet like you say. Many things to do and not enough hours in the day. Even so, I think the cost of PR would be negligible compared with the comparative return, a few thousand pounds could add many millions to the mkt cap. Like you say, a few pictures and tweets would at least show investors that they're interested in them, perhaps starting a chat on Quora might help if the right hashtags are used. The float is so small that even 2000 shares sale or purchase raises or lowers the price by 1 percent at the moment...on the other hand, the current low share price may make the upside more attractive for a uk broker, so maybe they're waiting on those negotiations first? My guess is that there are no new buyers at the moment but any shares being sold are taken up by existing shareholders who know how cheap it is.

I suspect all the family's energy is going into the imminent Hong Kong IPOs of MM Petroleum and Kazakh Steel where they are also majority holders. I believe they are looking to raise 500m for Kaz Steel so perhaps there is some read across as to what happens here in due course.

They need some big cash to really bring TS to the party and I honestly don't think a UK broker will make one jot of a difference here.

For the time being EBITDA is pretty much a given, we have our $40m to bring us to 1m TPA and if anything the share price has gone backwards. It looks like it's wait for Divis in 2/3 years time or some left field corporate activity to really get this going. Clearly the family are in no rush.
