29/6/2022 12:35 | ALTN are clearly doing very well, but the future capex requirement more than gobble that up as we look to develop TS. Six years before any payback to shareholders is a long long time, so I suppose it's too long for most. Then there's the Russia conundrum. Kaz has close links to Russia, but has been getting closer to the west too, so it is possible that Kaz chooses one side over the other and puts itself in the cross hairs of one side or the other, or both as in Ukraine. Remember that the Ukraine conflict evolved out of regime change and civil war, as east and west tear it to bits for their own interests and at the expense of Ukrainian lives. | excellance
29/6/2022 12:34 | KS, auditors have their suspicions on page 37, a related party ? | golden prospect
29/6/2022 12:27 | Hi GP, You are referring to the significant ($16.5m) pre-payment amounts made to suppliers on the balance sheet at year end? This is an increased risk - but if the suppliers paid are not able to provide the services paid for ALTN should presumably have legal recourse to reclaim most of the money? | king suarez
29/6/2022 12:19 | sloppy. There is an appetite on LSE for any company that makes good progress. its not the exchange they are on it is their modus operandi as far as PR is concerned, and of course previous situations. For better or worse I added. Even though I have no time for leveraged trading, you have to feel for those who took long bets out on Altyn in advance of results, as many would have been stopped out, which might explain the drop as often it creates a cascade effect. Even though a spread bet company does not have an obligation to lay off all its 'bets', it can be self serving to do so. | pensionplanner
29/6/2022 12:17 | Something doesn't stack up In the announcement at the beginning of the week there is no note against Trade and other receivables 21,530 But take a look at the AR 2021 where there is note 18 and then see Auditors note May explain share price movement | golden prospect
29/6/2022 12:14 | hxxps://min.news/en/ Thanks to DOF for first highighting over on LSE. Bascially another Assaubayev company applying for a listing on HKEX. Perhaps this is what they plan for Altyn as clearly London is proving completely pointless from a liquidity and capital perspective. It would not surprise me to see a voluntary delist in London and relisting in HKEX where the family clearly think there is more of an appetite for kaz stocks. The share price is suggesting something is afoot as does not smell right imo. | sloppyg
29/6/2022 12:11 | What the EFF - has some news leaked we are not aware of?! | king suarez
29/6/2022 12:08 | That's been the case for the last 15 years pp. End of last year they were plugging it with a broker. In reality they've always been bad at PR but good at running it | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 12:07 | Buyers returning. | sleveen
29/6/2022 12:03 | So who's doing the selling today? A few pple who bought in anticipation of the share jumping? Or one big holder? Can't see the price lasting down at these levels | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 11:57 | Still have to be concerned on them taking it private because for all the progress this still bears hallmarks of a family involvement for whatever reason, and the only reason that seems to stack up is an intention to take it private. The hard work has been done, its proved up, etc. etc. I hope I'm wrong but the family don't appear to be doing anything to improve sentiment and what would in my opinion demonstrate that is if this weakness now is front running a placing taken up by family members. | pensionplanner
29/6/2022 11:32 | Yes bsg, was all buys on Monday. Really a good example of bipolar Mr market | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 11:30 | Aiming for a PE of one by the looks. | bsg
29/6/2022 11:30 | I suppose given the choice between a company good at PR and one that just gets on and builds the business, the latter is always preferable. For us shareholders would be nice if they did do a bit of PR, but at least they've got the no 1 thing right | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 11:19 | I know in the past I have been somewhat critical of the "facts" posted by Stevea but I think his posts this week have been largely correct. I would add however there is one other key question Altyn need to deal with; How do we get this share on the radar of a bigger audience? Frankly, I don't think they care right now, they are building a foundation and establishing a very profitable business which will see them and their descendants well looked-after for generations to come. Is that their sole motivation? Nobody on here knows, we just buy the shares (because mathematically they are very cheap) and hope................ | nevgroom
29/6/2022 10:54 | Annual Report 2021, approved 24th June 2022 EBITDA from $3.3m to $13.6m to $26.4m and decreasing cash costs year on year is just great, now $649/oz Financial performance to be admired in 2021, should be a repeat for 2022 | golden prospect
29/6/2022 10:50 | I agree I don't think Russia has its sights on Kaz at all but there have been a few media articles lately on supposed tensions between the two. | spawny100
29/6/2022 09:42 | Folk can make all the protests they want for a change in reporting formats and detail but at the end of the day the summary figures every quarter tell us that organic growth continues. Investing is binary, no reason for the company to change its way to appease armchair investors; they are getting on with mining without big PR. From the interims and full year reporting profits are currently $1000 per oz, a great position to move forward from. | golden prospect
29/6/2022 08:56 | The bottom line is this is a gold mine with a PE ratio of 2 and an improving business...there can be improvements in any business but these guys are generally doing a good job. I'd rather have a business with a PE ratio of 2 in Kazakhstan than the same amnt invested in a business with a PE of 20 in Canada. Any takers for Canada instead here? | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 08:52 | Spawny I think that's a good article. I really don't see the Russians taking on more costs for the foreseeable future by instigating more war. What that article says is the Kazakhs are balancing the west and the Russians quite nicely I would say | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 08:36 | Articles like this won't be helping the share price imo. | spawny100
29/6/2022 08:08 | Hopefully you are right about Kazakhstan lads and all is going to be fine. GL. | marmar80
29/6/2022 08:06 | I don't think the war is significant either. But for the wrong reasons, investors are holding against this company. Actually back in March one big investor said he sold off for that very reason, although I think it was more due to his view that sentiment on war wld push the price down rather than there wld be direct problems. Indirectly it has affected ability to finance etc.. | researchcentre123
29/6/2022 07:58 | stock. Thanks for that info. I have had success contacting Andrew Terry. Rc123. The war is not a significant factor for this company. I will reply more later. | stevea171 |
