If it is a fund manager it will steady the share and bring it to the attention of others. Well worth it to diversify the shareholder base.

Remember - he's still got more share options at very cheap prices - much cheaper than 79p to exercise - to get back up TO 30%. The other party may just be a very good friend - who he wants to share in his co's success.
