Does anyone have an opinion as to any new offer that might come along now that the other one has lapsed. At the moment we are in limbo with regards future funding.

"Highly statistically significant" which is excellent, but I wish they had also given us an indication of the size of the reduction (i.e. "clinical significance" as opposed to just "statistical significance")

Timbo,I guess that they felt that they had to and didn't realise that the offer was just a market formality.Potentially, what next for us? Positive trial results imminently?Consolidation?Progress on peanuts.?Changes at board level?Expansion of markets?Whatever, this should be a value for money ride from here on in.Hopefully!!!!!

Today's RNS suggests to me that Abbott have used the opportunity of the offer to get out completely (which is perfectly understandable)

* Number of shares accepting offer at 1p/share: 247,935,057 (5.2%)
* Abbott's last reported holding (Oct 16th 2023): 240,584,571 (5.06%)

However, it makes me wonder why holders of the other 0.14% of shares accepted the offer of 1p/share when they could have obtained around 30% more had they sold in the market. Was it an act of willful idiocy, were they too lazy to read the announcements, or are they just financially illiterate?

Or maybe you are offering at too high a price. Who knows, there might be some other nasty surprise, serious, very very serious, which perhaps arises in some affiliate and overwhelms the whole group with a scandal. History tells us this.

I’m bidding for 350,000 shares at 1.30 GBX, 0.05 above the market, and no one’s in the least bit interested which tells you something.

I believe that Chinese funds will long remember the big mistake they made by putting money into this company. Mistake that everyone in Europe and beyond has made throughout the history of this company. A company that we often describe as a high tech life science startup but that I remind myself has products that it wants to register that are over twenty years old. This company, chronically hungry for money, on the brink of collapse for decades and which has burned millions of pounds because it was governed by inadequate managers, now had to look for a Chinese investor to screw, because everyone available had already been screwed.

jpuff,
Good morning.
My thinking was that some 85%+ were now held by our two largest holders. With a handful in free float and held by small fish such as you and I.
At £1.45p a share after the suggested 100-1 consolidation mentioned by Vergeltung. I couldn't see small shareholders forking out that kind of money. I also didn't feel larger players would be that interested given the history. It would of course depend on the circumstances.
I am sure that wiser men than I will correct the above if I am wrong.
At pennies, this has been a speculative share, soon it will change to an investment share as we are fattened up and window dressed for sale.
The new boys have done a great job providing that the products deliver as we all hope they do. The need for such products is vast and Simons mention of Asian connections is interesting indeed.

Fingers crossed they continue to play fair as I see interesting days ahead.

Of course some circa 30 percent? Would have taken up the open offer at 1p a share. But with five billion shares now in circulation I don't get the illiquid comment Jimmy unless they are all tightly held

Then we can look forward to them hitting 40 quid a share so we get back to square one eh!

Thanks Vergeltung,
Do you think that a share price of £1.45p will make this even more illiquid? I was thinking with only a handful of shares in the hands of P.I.'s.

Interesting days ahead for us all and that is of course, impo.

Yes, Jimmy, I think you are right to expect a consolidation. 100:1 maybe (SP=145p at current levels) seems sensible.

Uncharted waters from next week for us. Was I right in backing them.?

I will be very happy if we hit the 5p that Vergeltung talked about some weeks back before consolidation.

Do we have any thoughts on consolidation out there?

I understand that but one or two posters seem to feel that it is and I am not sure it will go through as it is way undervalued even taking into account weak managament.
Its madness given the IP and potential.

The offer from Skygem is not intended to succeed. It is mandatory. Read the offer document.
