What a surprise to read in the ST today that E&Y are delaying the deal to sell BV as they need more time to scrutinise Recharge's plans, particularly in relation to funding. I just don't understand why this wasn't done before they were made the preferred bidder. Anyone with half a brain at E&Y should have known that Recharge's bid was somewhat questionable given they have no obvious track record of raising the substantial funds required to build out this massive project, let alone successfully delivering on such a project. TVL's MOU with Recharge may not be worth the paper it was written on.

Price to buy now 280p/ to sell 265p....Everyday there has been liquidity but nothing available over 5k today and anything over 1k you're paying full ask!

I think it is absolutely right to be questioning the credentials of the management of Scale Facilitation / Recharge given their lack of experience in developing these sort of projects. And that has got nothing to do with de-ramping or anything else. Mr Collard may turn out to be another Elon Musk, but unfortunately I have my doubts!

The significant offtake envisaged under the MOU enables long term planning and production forecasting and strengthens its own battery offtake agreements and existing supply chain
. Recharge will make its supply of lithium hydroxide available to its active Cathode supplier with whom its holds a strong and strategic relationship.

Recharge is backed by New York based investment firm Scale Facilitation and is currently in the process of building a gigafactory at Avalon near Geelong, Australia and is also involved in battery technology research and development.

Recharge Founder David A. Collard commented:

“This MOU links two like minded companies to enable the critical mineral supply chain needed to build significant battery manufacturing capability in Australia, the US and the UK and underscores our intent to revive the fortunes of Britishvolt. We look forward to integrating lithium hydroxide from TVL into our established and high performing supply chain.”

“Both require each other for success”

from LSE Major Oak.....Australian Magnis "The plant will manufacture cells featuring C4V’s patented Charge CCCV technology which relies on bio-mineralised lithium manganese phosphate (BMLMP) cathode technology. The chemistry, which is free of nickel and cobalt, incorporates traditional electrolyte along with a patented mixed metal phosphate composition in the cathode which the company said enables 3.9 volts of charge, one of the highest voltages of any lithium-ion cells in the marketplace.

Magnis, one of the companies behind plans to develop an 18 GWh lithium-ion battery factory in northern Queensland, said the voltage is 20% higher than lithium-ion phosphate cells and up to 8% higher than nickel cobalt aluminium and nickel manganese cobalt cells."

"RecycLiCo and C4V Produce Battery Cells from Recycled-Upcycled Lithium-ion Battery Waste.
RecycLiCo Battery Materials Inc. (“RecycLiCo221; or “Company“;), a company focused on the development of novel and environmentally friendly lithium-ion battery recycling and upcycling technologies, is pleased to announce that the Company has closed the loop on the lithium-ion battery supply chain with its patented recycling and upcycling process. Using the Company’s battery-ready material, new battery cells were successfully assembled, and their performance was validated by C4V.

C4V is an intellectual property company that creates next-generation storage materials with expertise in electrode design and process development to fast-track Gigafactory deployment across the globe. C4V technology is foundational to North America’s largest home-grown lithium-ion battery Gigafactory, iM3NY, in Endicott, New York and is the only Gigafactory across the globe with an ex-Asia supply chain.

C4V completed a phase 1 qualification study, where RecycLiCo’s NMC811 (nickel-manganese-cobalt oxide) precursor cathode material, made from recycled and upcycled lithium-ion battery waste, was converted into a proprietary cathode composition by C4V’s supply chain partner, followed by cell production and performance evaluations by C4V.

As reported by C4V, the electrochemical and technical data achieved the benchmark specifications and performance. Test results also indicated that the specific capacity and stability of the battery cell are acceptable and that C4V approves the material as qualified.

With the objective of using future recycled material for the Gigafactory qualification process, RecycLiCo has shipped the second, larger batch of precursor cathode material to begin phase 2 qualification testing, which includes production of multi-layer commercial size pouch and prismatic cells.

“C4V is pleased to confirm RecycLiCo’s recycled materials have successfully achieved qualification status through our Supply Chain Partner Qualification program. We look forward to further testing and the opportunity to help demonstrate the viability o

It's things like this in his egotistical CV (hxxps://www.scalefacilitation.com/ceo) that worry me...

"David has also secured a multi-year lease for a full upper floor of the World Trade Center complex’s iconic Freedom Tower. This Manhattan base of operations will allow for continued growth and expansion of Scale Facilitation® projects and will also serve as hub to foster and strengthen the US-Australian alliance."

Lex Greenshill anyone!

And yet Mr Collard has absolutely zero experience of developing projects such as this. To be trying to do two at the same time (remind one of anyone?)seems to be stretching the bounds of credulity. Is he and Recharge / Scale Facilitation the best the administrators can come up with? I hope I am proved wrong, but this may end up in the same place as BV Mk1.

was catching up with my industry friend, Paul Atherley, Chairman of Alkemy Capital Investments, which owns Tees Valley Lithium Ltd, this morning and he expressed his excitement to be #collaborating/#partnering with David A. Collard and the team at Recharge Industries™/Scale Facilitation® -

“This recent news clearly underscores why Recharge Industries™ was the preferred bidder for the Britishvolt business. As we look to create more secure, lower carbon, supply chains in the race to zero, the partnership between Tees Valley Lithium Ltd and ReCharge is timely and #strategic. The only way the #uk stands a fighting chance of a successful #energytransition is via thoughtful and value add collaboration. This unity will deliver not only the much needed Gigafactory economy but also the parallel raw materials industry. Both require each other for success. This is a win win scenario for the people of the U.K. and Australia, and will turbocharge our combined battery ambitions.”

This is a clear positive. However, before we all start to break out the champagne I would highlight that Recharge / Scale Facilitations still have to raise billions of $ to get the old BV project off the ground, while at the same time trying to get their similarly ambitious Australian project off the ground. Projects of a scale that they have no obvious experience of doing. Reading the CEO's biog (hxxps://www.scalefacilitation.com/ceo) makes me somewhat nervous too!

They're house brokers and in Nov 22 they raised their price target to £12.24 from £6.12. VSA, their other corporate advisors have a tgt of £10. All great, but not worth the paper that they're written on if they can't get financing. And we've heard nothing on that.
