You are unbelievable after all the pro arguments you have put forward over the past few months. Good luck.

That won't be me fellas. I am placing no more coins in this meter it has had enough from me.

I am now out at a huge loss but I wish anyone who sees this through all the luck in the world.

I have no doubt that we will all meet again on other boards in, hopefully, far better circumstances than on here. The good times we have enjoyed have all turned out to be as a result of empty promises, and over hyped products, for which, IMHO, management should bow their heads.

When you examine the content of this latest management update and compare it with the 'deals across the board' speech it makes your blood boil.

Good luck to you all.

Regards PF.

I am out on the back of this.

The only bit of 'new' news in this was the publication of the expected trial end for Takeda. 07-2010.

They have enough money to last until then, but this is later than I had hoped, especially as there will have to be analysis after this.

This is my reason for selling.

Good luck to all.

What is new in today's management statement?

Any serious investor or even serious trader would have read the key sections of the annual report (easily downloadable from AZM's web-site). The first section read, being the auditor's report to see if there was a statement about a going concern, and precisely what caveats there might be.

If today's statement about a going concern is news to anyone, they need to change their priorities, starting with reading more and posting less! It is old news!

Do they have enough cash to last until they receive the next milestone from Takeda?

This could come when half the people are recruited into the Phase 3 trial or at the first safety monitoring review - both should be this year - or on completion of the trial next year. Does anyone know the protocols with Japanese trials and deals?

There is significant scope for further salary cutting if the management have only cut theirs by 30% which still leaves the CEO on several hundred thousand too much some might say.

morning dunders

That's lifted the gloom eh!. By Christ the man knows how to write a company statement. He must have spent hours preparing that, at £7000 a week, or am I right in summising that has now been reduced to £4500 per week. (a snip)

I do hope that this doesn't shatter VOW's confidence and bring the end of 2010 a bit closer to the end of 2009.

Regards

I ask again.

Sliver Ape: ""Dunder, it is probably fair to say there isnt going to be a deal for Ceti........His best bet is partnering, or an outright sale."

My Question:Rather than what exactly?

VOW, I strongly believe if a deal was coming it would have by now. I know we dont agree on this, but one must genuinely ask how long does an investor wait. Every day that passes, they lose more in terms of competition and first mover. A £100m is a great deal of money and a massive financial committment. It is also going to take a couple of years.

I believe this is just being realistic. Tim hasnt managed to get anything...it cant be that good I would suggest.

Yep poor little Ape. I love the insight he trys to give when blatantly he has absolutley no understanding of the maket or this company what so ever.

Eh??? Rather than what exactly?

Loafob,

Anyone that took Ceti wouldn't be initially competing with GSK as they only have the OTC rights. The ROW would be for prescription only, with or without the option of OTC, so will initially be competing with Roche and would involve a LOT less marketing.

Although hopefully if Alli does prove to be a huge success their market research should prove that sales would be a ?% higher if they weren't the side effects and they can then establish whether the extra investment would be viable. It makes more sense for GSK to take the OTC rights on their own as their distribution channels are already established, which would significantly reduce the costs.

Does anyone know how this stock can be shorted?

Which company offers shorting on it?

I have checked with Cantor and igindex, and not possible.

Dunder, it is probably fair to say there isnt going to be a deal for Ceti.

£100m is simply too much to gamble IMO.

His best bet is partnering, or an outright sale.

Hope so.

I wonder what the share price would be if it was Ceti in that window.

If only.

(ROW after that TAK deal and it would be on the shelves by now.)
