10/10/2010 23:09 | wirralfinance - 9 Oct'10 - 15:02 - 13725 of 13736 "I predicted he would sell out AFD weeks ago and as long as he got some sort of Directorship etc thrown in, it would be stuff the shareholders Im alright jack attitude well he has another brand new company in Botswana to play with and I suppose we will have some sort of placing initially in the new Botswana Co to top up the coffers (have to make sure he has enough for his wages etc)". "I personally think we will get another offer I know that the offer received is being scrutinised quite carefully by others, who may put another offer in at a higher price part paper & cash, which I hope happens as it will force Lucara to revise its offer upwards it does not want another minority partner, why do you think the break clause fee was put into the last offer??? " ===== Good evening everyone. Interesting posts wirral....Not sure I agree with all you have said these past few days. But interesting posts none the less. You think there will be another bid for AFD? Not sure that Lucara would be keen on that, maybe thats why they made a bid first.... ====== 13 August 2010 African Diamonds plc ("African Diamonds" or the "Company") Statement re Share Price Movement African Diamonds advises that it has received an unsolicited proposal regarding a potential offer to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of the Company. The Board of African Diamonds does not consider the proposal as currently constituted to be one it would recommend to shareholders and there can be no certainty that an offer will be made for African Diamonds or as to the terms on which any such offer would be made. ====== Yet now the AFD are in favour of the deal.....Did Lucara up the Offer? Or was the original offer from another company? Time will tell. | hatto

10/10/2010 11:56 | yarisverso - 10 Oct'10 - 09:16 - 13729 of 13730 Wirral, do you think that Aidan Heavy put JT onto Block 2A in Ghana? After all Tullow has Irish roots. When Tullow discovered Jubilee they had to give up half of their Ghana Block as per their agreement with the GNPC. This Block 2A is where Clontarf now have a signed agreement with the GNPC. I have heard that the Block 2A was rated as highly prospective by Jubilee, before they had to let it go. .................... Stop talking bollix mixy! Tullow didn't have to let anything go, they pulled out of the shallow water Tano because they discovered it was 'non comercial'! T | pat mustard irl
10/10/2010 11:56 | The rock type in near shore Ghana is incapable of forming reservoirs so the bulk of the oil has migrated to the deep water leaving only slight shows of hydrocarbons which can trick the seismic but not the drill bit, as Tullow proved! Look at the map of the blocks along near shore Ghana, not a single block has produced and Oranta has recently walked away from their near shore block on the other side of Takoradi. | pat mustard irl

09/10/2010 18:37 | There is a lot of speculation over whether another offer will be in the pipeline. I would like to think that one is being drawn up as there are some big institutional holders that must feel the same as the PI's that could apply some sort of influence in this scenario (i think). Conversly, as much as i would like to believe this, i don't think one will come, but that's purely based on gut feel. | varrirob
09/10/2010 16:33 | WF My sentiments also. Any holding in any future JT enterprise in my opinion has to be looked upon as a walk away with hopefully profit after the first barrage of hype has taken effect. As a long term holder of AFD I agree that the best option is to sit this one out and see what the Lucara management delivers. | undecided |
