I suggest you read that PDF from LUC.

Loss making and cash hungry.

I honestly feel that the LUC bid was the latest and last. They waited until last IMHO.

Jungle Jim- longer to wait for a decent return. Be interesting to see if GEM produce a bid now that LUC's is out in the open.

AZ209, didn't I see you on the RRR board on Friday, concocting a posting that looked like it came from someone else? Naughty, naughty!

It is a good deal for those locked in at a higher value as they will now reap the reward of a rising share price in the future and have a chance of making a profit that a simple cash deal would not have given them. I said if a deal was made it would be a paper one. It could have been better but we are starting our journey North IMHO.

Agreed Danny, that's my take on it. Emotionally I feel stitched up, but business-wise it all looks good. I can't see the LUC share price dropping either. For the same reasons that we all thought AFD paid well under the odds for 40% of AK6, Luc have paid under the odds for 100% of AK6. And I can't see them getting rid of it for a small premium like AFD have just done.

I'm surprised by some of the comments on here today. I understand disappointment from long term holders, but in reality, are you any worse off? Unless I'm mistaken, the value of the conversion price for AK6 alone is above the recent AFD SP, even if you suspect that the 7p valuation of what is left is pure fantasy (maybe/maybe not). Surely the main difference now is that we share in 100% of the future value of AK6, but our shares are now held in a company that is already generating revenue from Mothae and has the backing of the Lundin Group. Am I missing something? Personally, I would be more comfortable hedging my bets with a combination of a 'producing' mine and a significant 'potential' than having all my eggs in that significant 'potential' bucket. That leaves the residual AFD as gravy IMO

The real calculation is what value would be put on LUC shares a year from now.

With AK6 and Mothae in production, that value ought to be pretty high.

Back from weekend in Italy. For the life of me I can't see how JT can even spin this one up as being a good deal. 0.445 + 0.07 = 0.51p I am gobsmacked. AFD and JT had to be distressed sellers. Only plus might be that Lucara might be better managed then afd. Bitter disappointment after following these over the years and having a substantially higher breakeven then this paper offer. Will be getting out of these at first opportunity on a point of principle, the fact that in the end the AFD team did'nt think it had a higher value and there is better growth shares out there with obviously less risk. In answer to an earlier question the only Clontharf poster I know here is Marcello Lippi - David Horgan.

The question now, is will LUC go up or down on the news?
They are 'diluting' to the tune of 80M shares but benefitting by 40% of AK6.
