Ominously quiet as we approach the next revised Covenant Test date in February.

The Chairman of Albemarle & Bond, brought back full time to rescue the debt-plagued pawnbroker in April last year, has been given a £100,000 bonus, despite a failed rights issue and the departure before Christmas of a potential buyer. Greville Nicholls was made Chief Executive of Albemarle in 1995 and oversaw its admission to the Alternative Investment Market, as well as rapid expansion. - The Times

Murphy & Mardon-Taylor the original founders may be keen to get back this business and run it like the early days when it made profit. If they get David Page the previous operations director back on board this business has legs.

Have to say I expected the share price to fall not rise but there we are. Haven't changed my mind however.

empirestate - absolutely agree - in my view the prospects for PIs are increased somewhat by Moulton's departure so let us continue to wait upon events.

Moulton walked cos he knew he couldn't buy ABM for one pound imo. These venture capital boys want something for nothing. Certainly can't see EZ giving their 30% away.

Not good news today, I was sceptical about a bid at any price due to the debt figure.

Any predator is really calling the shots at any price its really up the banks.

Hosede - looks as though you were right to have called time on this - certainly I won't be buying back in as Jon Moulton walking is very worrying for ABM. I suspect these would now be much lower if it weren't a quiet Christmas Eve!

Norges Bank investing in deeply distressed ABM is an enigma to me.

Personally can't work it out. A very speculative investment in my view for any Central Bank and for Norwegian state funds.

I do ask myself how members of the Norwegian public may or may not view this.

Bid coming at least 65p.

Just DYOR. Banks will write off all debt as they want to save jobs like they have always done.

There is gold in here.
