I see IMIC is slowly moving up on no volume. On a bad market day too.

but if they were listed at least you could sell them and keep the cash in your ISA.

not surprising the crooks who run AFF and IMIC have once again shown their promises to be worthless lies.

Take a look at IKA guys. Could be pretty exciting. Barclays are ejecting my loan notes from the ISA because of the duration of the loan not the listing. Even if they were listed they wouldn't allow them in. Nat West don't show anything and I haven't heard back from them. It all seems a bit of a mess.

I too have received my loan notes in my Selftrade ISA and no message yet that they cannot be held in an ISA.

Having completed a stock transfer form, my Loan Notes have now moved from my Barclays Investment ISA to my wife's MarketMaster account. All has gone pretty smoothly, it seems!

As you have a TDW account, may I ask if the loan notes are correctly showing in your portfolio yet?

Mine still appear as "xxx, xxx Afferro Mining Assented" rather than IMIC PLC 8% Loan Notes 2015

Not being able to trade a share, bond or convertible bond does not make it ineligible for an ISA.
I have an Australian share that has been suspended by ASX for 11 months and TDW say it can remain in my ISA. Whilst suspended the company has changed its name and undertaken a reverse takeover. The company has undertaken a reverse split as well - there is no limit of time under ASX rules for suspensions.

The above may not seem helpful but shows there is leeway in these situations.

Selftrade has notified me that convertibles will be showing in my ISA shortly (1 for 1 ratio) rather than 40% as in some cases. No notification (yet!) that they cannot stay in the ISA.

Times running out now, what's the chances of IMIC loan notes being listed by 24th Jan? I want to sell them and be able to keep my cash in my ISA.

Ok had a reply from Barclays

"Hi Stephen,

Our team have investigated this and it is definitely not ISA eligible I'm afraid."

Oh well.

I'm with barclays too but haven't as yet been told that I can't keep the notes in my ISA. Will contact them to ask re 'flexibility' though if I do.

On the subject of whether the IMIC convs can be kept in ISAs. I have been looking at the HMRC guidance for ISA Managers here:

Page 78, chapter 7, Para 7.67.

7.67 However, where ineligible investments are issued as an intermediate stage, and
those investments are short-lived, or are automatically replaced by cash, SSO will
consider whether it is possible to look through the intermediate stages and apply
the guidance at paragraph 7.2 to the initial and final investments alone. If a
reorganisation involves intermediate ineligible investments managers should submit
full details to savings.audit@hmrc.gsi.gov.uk, and if possible well before the
planned reorganisation date.

Looks to me that some flexibility can be shown by the Tax authorities.
I have spoken to Barclays to see if they asked if it was possible to "look though" and am awaiting a reply.

Others might want to check with their ISA providers.

(Course I could be wrong that it applies here, but worth an ask)
