01/9/2009 13:28 | The thing about this share is that it moves on every trade nearly. I had to laugh the other day when someone bought 3900 ish at 24.4 in the morning, along came someone else later and sold, price dropped and then the poor begger who bought the 3900 ish sold exactly that amount at 19.4 ish - a 20%+ loss in one day and with only 4 trades. Thats fairly normal here but obviously they had not ever followed any trades here...... | stegrego

19/6/2009 19:18 | The placing would have been agreed weeks before with the usual 25% discount at that time 16p-18p | battlebus
19/6/2009 00:02 | Very disappointed by the price action here, although having said that, ive bought more under 22p recently. I think the MMs led people to get a bit carried away and / or a seller is in the market. Also disappointed that they chose to place more shares at 12p, even though the price had touched 38p a few days before! | stegrego
18/6/2009 23:54 | WHAT PRICE NOW! | battlebus
18/6/2009 22:21 | Asia-focused teaching group AEC Education continued its resurgence under new chief executive David Ho with profits more than doubled last year. The AIM-listed company, which currently provides vocational, degree and postgraduate courses for over 13,000 young people, increased pre-tax profits 167 per cent to £794,000 on revenues up 124 per cent at £6.2 million in the year to December. Organic growth was augmented by a number of acquisitions, including stakes in two Malaysian business training specialists and the 'transformational' purchase of Educational Resources, a vocational examination and certification provider. This latter purchase established a link with AIM rising star Education Development International, for which Educational Resources holds an exclusive agency agreement to market and administer London Chamber of Commerce and Industry international qualifications across 24 countries in Asia. This arm generates most of its business in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Myanmar and Singapore, with China, Vietnam, India and Sri Lanka expected to grow strongly. The year also saw the beginning of AEC's new programme in China of Mandarin-based diploma business programmes in Singapore specifically for students from China. Ho, who can call on £3.25 million of cash after a post-year-end fundraising, plans further expansion of current schools as well as acquisitions in the region and in the UK and Europe to link with its Asian network. Shares in the company have been infused with renewed interest as investors hope for a similar soaring performance to that of Education Development International, with AEC up 91 per cent to 31.5p, valuing the company at £8.88 million, having hit a three-year high of 37.5p on the morning of the results | stegrego
16/6/2009 00:12 | Told you the thieving MM crooks would MManipulate this back Down.. Ronning from those who bought Friday above 30p.. MMs are Thieves. | speculating
12/6/2009 20:36 | EPS is forecast to stay flat for the coming year, unless some new acquisitions come along that are immediately earnings enhancing. This is due to the number of shares in issue increasing due to the placing at 12p, after year end and not being reflected in the results. Market cap is currently £7.4 million. 28,192,146 now in issue as opposed to 17,987,420. Profit is forecast to grow strongly, some 40%+ but that will just keep parity of EPS. I would personally hope that they can buy well and add value and also suprise on the growth side in the present year. They have something like £3 million in cash (assuming they havent spent anything since having £2 mill at 31st Dec and then a £1 mill placing in April) Good sector(s) to be in - Education, Training and Asia. Looking forward to holding for a good while. (although if id been around at 9:30 i would have been mighty tempted to bank a 50% gain in an hour!) | stegrego
12/6/2009 15:26 | Now 25p and 27p and falling as Warned this morning. MMs are Thieves and will MManipulate this all the way back down over the coming 1 to 2 weeks. They always do. The last 10 years having been a scam orchestrated by MMs who are thieves.. | speculating
12/6/2009 09:00 | Nice for those who bought for 12p in the recent placing | balcony
12/6/2009 08:49 | Everything improved compared to last year * Record results - reflecting benefits of acquisitions and strong organic growth * Significant progress in acquisition strategy: - balance of Educational Resources Pte Ltd acquired in January 2008 - further investment in two providers of professional and financial qualifications, IMS and Kasturi, in April 2008 * Operational reorganisation completed * Prospects for further growth remain very encouraging Commenting, Chairman Liam Swords, said, "2008 has been another very successful year for the Group. We have made considerable progress in building on our position as a well-respected provider of education programmes in the Asian market, in particular, with the completion of a transformational acquisition, of Educational Resources Pte Ltd. 40p in no time. - could well see 25p breached today. | shammytime
