Posted at 24/9/2024 09:21 by stewacg Why does ADVFN's monitor frequently display misleading percentage changes on the Monitor and Quotes page these days? As an example ORR is currently quoted (as it has all morning) as having a gain of 6% at a spread of 0.335/0.354 down from 0.335/0.38 at opening yet is simultaneously correctly quoted at 2% down with online brokers or other online sites. These discrepancies often persist for large parts of the day and are often only corrected after closing. This can be gravely misleading for potential investors in a stock. |
Posted at 27/5/2023 07:54 by bamboo2 I checked out a few bb's on Investors Hub. It would be a really good idea to try and avoid UK based Advfn going down this route. It seems full of the worst kind of internet banter, people taking the mick, getting personal, etc |
Posted at 26/5/2023 22:11 by piperpeter Carlos (ADVFN),Thanks for looking into the problem with the financials re MEN, Molecular Energies. To be able to now immediately see the market cap, generated revenue, profit, P/E Ratio and Earnings Per Share, will give any prospective investor an outline of how the Company is performing. Much appreciated. Pp. |
Posted at 25/5/2023 09:11 by piperpeter Carlos (ADVFN),Could you please explain why the financials on the company Molecular Energies, MEN, either are showing zero or left completely blank, including the sector and market cap? Surely this missing information is critical in drawing the attention of a prospective investor to said company. A share price on its own means absolutely nothing. Could you also please explain why, after my many efforts to bring this to ADVFN's attention via the messaging service, over what is a prolonged period now, that nothing appears to be done to rectify this, and why no one replies to me in this regard? Please take a look at my post number 8 on the premium users suggestions bb. Pp. |
Posted at 12/3/2023 17:16 by smurfy2001 The only other stock forum l know of similar to ADVFN is LSE (pretty good posters on there but doesn't seems as busy). Interactive investor sadly shuttered their forum, it was pretty active. I'm not a reddit fan and it's hard to find stock specific commentary.Parts of ADVFN stock forums are very quiet for me as it is. So if ADVFN start charging it might drive away free posters even further even if the fee is one off. I guess it's a a balance, I'm sure ADVFN will want as many users as possible to drive their advertising revenue. |
Posted at 17/1/2023 20:19 by mattjos I am quite sure that most proper investors would have no problem paying … the benefits of membership far exceed such a nominal annual fee .. the collective knowledge pool and abilities in this forum & the fact that most people so willingly & enthusiastically share their knowledge with others is akin to each user standing on the shoulders of a collective giant.I believe folk would be daft not to pay, particularly if in so doing it cleaned up the forum & helped the owners drive forward improvements. Let's be honest, if folk unwilling to pay a nominal fee towards an improved user experience then would their absence actually be missed by the rest? If you cant afford £25-£50 / year for basic ADVFN access then arguably you can't afford to invest in Stocks & Shares. |
