10/10/2017 18:37 | You've got to hand it to them - leak the rumour, conduct a media onslaught, get an share price surge back over 25p, then hit us all with a major placing. Standard practice, but it seems to work every time. To be fair - it's what I'd do if I needed to keep the wheels on. | jestercat2
10/10/2017 18:34 | Placing ahoy! We must all be prepared for major dilution here - inevitable IMO. But at least it'll keep the company afloat. | jestercat2
10/10/2017 16:52 | Well they had better get a move on to take advantage of current conditions as I have a feeling that the price will drift downwards very rapidly the longer the company keeps quiet over their funding needs. 'News soon' is very open ended timing wise and they were not at all specific in the interims about their intentions apart from a few comforting words. | wi1l
10/10/2017 09:20 | IgbertSponk9 Oct '17 - 14:15 - 4160 of 4167 1 0 Andy - you really think the current share price will have anything to do with what price any placing is done at ? ------- You did not read my post correctly! I actually said: "The share price has to be high enough so it can be discounted" Which means what exactly? They need it higher so it can look attractive to peeps being offered the placing, and with the sudden rush of paid "research" (LOL!) and media interviews, is a sure sign such a financing event is close, IMO. | andy
09/10/2017 16:37 | thanks wi1l | twirl
09/10/2017 16:13 | THey refer to it in the annual a/cs page 5 although I'm not sure whether its still available as they say they've removed the condition requiring a further £25M but I'm not sure whether that condition is the loan itself or the actual conditions relating to the loan, its a bit misleading. In any event it was the 2nd part of the arrangement with Metric where the 1st part was arranged in May 2016 where they were to receive £24M of which £11M was straight away for the purchase of the LIGHT machine in Harley St. As far as I can see the £11M was never received and the machine parts are now in hoc to Blackfinch so I should think it never happened although its not been mentioned as such. I don't think that its still an option but may be wrong. | wi1l
09/10/2017 15:29 | "similar to the last Blackfinch loan" - that loan was backed by "receivables" presumably the tax refund and the first tranch backed by Harley St. As there are no assets I would say that debt financing would be unlikely unless Segulah consider a bit more debt to ultimately get full ownership is worth it. Investors considering a placing would be aware of the cloud over the disclosures in the last placing re Sinophi, the failure to obtain equity funding over the last year, the track record of delays and the queue of debtors. BTW can anyone assist with the position of AVO with the £25m debt owed to Metric? I seem to have lost track with that one. | twirl
09/10/2017 15:08 | This will give certainty to all shareholders for a long term funding solution to enable LIGHT to be brought fully to market. Hopefully it will be a much larger funding arrangement similar to the last Blackfinch loan announced 27th March this year. Or perhaps an issue of shares with a major partner which as long as there was an element of an open offer I would be happy. All we can guess is that this has been a planned media campaign to increase the share price IMHO to a more realistic level to reduce any future dilution. | makeamillion1
09/10/2017 15:07 | ...more dilution and another stay of execution. Though the BOD of AVO seem to use a different definition of "dilution" in regards to most mere mortals. | gerhart
09/10/2017 14:50 | Meaning what to shareholders? | johnjohntaylor
09/10/2017 14:42 | The current share price has everything to do with fundraising! I suspect based on rumors and the significant media activity over the last two weeks that the deal has already been agreed. It is likely therefore to be based on previous fund raising by the company and that I hope warrants / equity will be offered to a major partner geared to the average share price over the past number of X days. Following the interview with the chairman (top of the tree) having been released today I would say this has been a well planned event and the final interview prior to an announcement. Time will tell. | makeamillion1
09/10/2017 14:15 | Andy - you really think the current share price will have anything to do with what price any placing is done at ? Wishful thinking ! | igbertsponk
09/10/2017 14:06 | Igbert, Yes they could, but with the share price above 40p they don't need to tweek the articles or hold a EGM, they can do it anyway! The share price has to be high enough so it can be discounted, and it looks to be there now. | andy
09/10/2017 14:01 | "Because they cannot issue below the par value, which is 25p." Err... they'll need a General Meeting to issue enough equity to keep this afloat for more than a few weeks. So can easily tweak the Articles to allow an issue at any price. | igbertsponk
09/10/2017 13:11 | shaky, Because they cannot issue below the par value, which is 25p. We do seem to have a media onslaught going on, normally the sign a placing is close. | andy
09/10/2017 13:08 | If there was equity funding why would it be at above 25p ? | shakyhands
09/10/2017 09:38 | hxxp://www.directors AVO are certainly conducting an intense media campaign with the chairman now contributing in this interview. It almost seems a foregone conclusion that a funding announcement is very very close. Interesting to read of the rumors as well, what we need is a significant partner such as Thales...time will tell. GLA | makeamillion1
09/10/2017 08:00 | Yes we shall see. I hope it's good news for share holders. | johnjohntaylor
08/10/2017 23:30 | John, I heard very recently from a source that they were trying to raise money, so this rumour seems too close to that comment (two weeks ago) to be true, but we shall see in due course. | andy
08/10/2017 20:50 | Amazing if true! Could be the catalyst to all we want. GLA. | johnjohntaylor
08/10/2017 18:27 | For me the most likely outcome is big funding in place (this month) and AVO becoming market leaders. Big profits, patients benefiting daily and (hopefully) the end of all the speculative bulletin board comments. | johnjohntaylor
08/10/2017 17:55 | JackNife. While your basic premise about the likelihood of a takeover at the moment might be correct you are wrong to dismiss the possibility of it happening at some time in the future as delusional. If you think such thoughts are delusional you are just deluding yourself. | daijavu
08/10/2017 17:26 | Johnjohn, Nobody knows for sure of course, but the chances of a takeover happening at the moment are so unlikely that it's not really worth suggesting, IMO. | andy |
