I seem to recall someone saying that it was against the rules to list a shell company if they have a target acquisition deal already in place.

Point being that even if (as seems highly likely to me) the AC8 directors knew from the start what their acquisition target was, they would still have to wait for a respectable amount of time before announcing the deal. I'd have thought six months would be long enough.

AC8 listed on 19/Jul/2021. Six months later takes us to 19/Jan/2022. So I think we might be getting very close to the big reveal!

There is pretty much no doubt that all three will succeed big-time. Why ?

Simple really. Mr. Williams is well connected and he knows the markets. He is respected. He creates the framework, provides the business management and seed capital and then makes it attractive for big-hitter investors to vend-in.

As to BAY vs.REDC, I think that is easy. REDC has the same equity set-up as AC8. Few shares and very responsive to demand. If you look at the track-record of the co-Director to Mr. Williams it is stellar in the software space. Even a half decent deal will make it fly.

As to BAY, Peter Tom is a legend in his own lifetime but it will take a while to build another Breedon although Sigmaroc has gone from nothing to a major in the same space within 2 years.

Frankly all three are almost certain success stories. I am surprised others have not spotted the opportunity and what is happening.

Confirmed in the FT. So any company valued at up to £30m that want a main listing better get on the phone to AC8.

"The reforms will also force smaller companies, worth less than £30m, that want to list in London to choose platforms for growth stocks, such as Aim or Aquis Growth Market, rather than the main London Stock Exchange.

The new regulations will lift the minimum market value for a listing on London’s main market from £700,000 to £30m. Some market participants warned that the FCA’s initial proposal of a £50m threshold was too high."

Just seen this on twitter. Looks like AC8 will be one of the last standard listed cash shells - should give them a lot more bargaining power.

"Andrew Monk @AmonkMonkey ·29m

New FCA listing rules are out - standard listing now min £30mn so no more small cash shells - existing ones now very valuable and have 2 years to do a deal"

What I like about this share is you could wake up to a share price of £20 or 15m cap which is nothing considering the company are going after target companies up to 250m.

Instant mark up. You won't be able to buy any.

Just a few grand could turn into 30k plus.

Not sure that share issue limited to 750,000 is irrelevant. Surely makes for illiquid market subject to violent share price movement up or down.

Someuwin, why is shares in issue a big deal? The only reason it could move fast is due to the MCAP... Jeez. Don't you know on any company (shares in issue X share price)= MCAP... Just thought I'd point it out for you.

CC - I know this is a standard LSE listing. My comment was that the founders don't appear to have a history of AIM flops - it's usually where serial losers rob shareholders for a living.

As for being a dead cert, that's overconfidence. Can't find any independent info on the founders. Obviously need to ignore the profiles written by themselves - every company that ever existed, good or bad, wrote puff pieces about itself!

(Off topic): Recent example Parallel Media (PAA), supposedly run by the co-founder of Sky. Never made a penny of profit. Changed names a few times. Tapped shareholders for cash. Tons of share consolidations meant that the share price went from 753000p to 35p before being renamed Live Company (LVCG), where they've dropped to 4.5p!!! If the bloke was so smart, why didn't he make any money from Sky? Why have his plcs failed? Quite an impressive CV and claim to fame, but one of the worst share price histories ever. A £10,000.00 investment 15 years ago is now worth 6p !!!!! (End off-topic)

AC8 is an interesting punt - I'm drawn in by the tiny amount of shares, and a new team who might or mightn't come good. At least they don't have a dismal history like above, and others.

One exciting deal could see this multiply. Just have to wait for that moment. The ingredients are there.

3. Share price 235p, not 270p!

No-one's buying AC8 for its cash reserves / asset base obviously!!!!!

No-one at all should be investing in AC8 at this stage. It's a punt on a new microcap company whose founders might, or might not, make some sort of business deal.

As far as I can tell these aren't serial losers. Their names haven't been associated with repeated smallcap failures over the years - the usual burgle a living from AIM for as many years as shareholders cough up funds - unless someone can show me otherwise.

So a level playing field, a new team, and a chance of something spectacular happening in future.

Not much cash looks to be 30p a share after broker and nomad fees
