Last week, I visited the York headquarters of Abingdon Health: A Northern Powerhouse, global manufacturer of lateral flow device tests. I met with Chris Hand (Chairman), Chris Yates (CEO) and Melanie Ross (CFO) to discuss the role Abingdon Health played during the outbreak of the pandemic. In response to the Government’s request to develop a COVID-19 antibody rapid lateral flow test that screens for an immune response following COVID-19 infection or vaccination, Abingdon Health have transformed their business over the last 18 months.

It was fascinating to see such innovation and growth happening right here in Sand Hutton, now expanding across Yorkshire. As well as growing from 50 people to almost 200 people, Abingdon Health have also built an additional 9 laboratories across their York and Doncaster sites and invested in cutting edge lateral flow test automation technology. Growing companies such as this is vital to our economy, not least for providing job opportunities across Yorkshire and the UK.

Along with the Chief Operations Officer, Olly Gardner, and Operations Director, Dave Goldsworthy, I toured the Sand Hutton state-of-the-art manufacturing facility to gain an understanding of new automated assembly equipment - vital for producing high-quality lateral flow products at large volumes. As well as seeing the manufacture of Abingdon Health’s ‘AbC’ COVID-19 antibody lateral flow test, I also saw several of the other lateral flow tests being manufactured at the Abingdon Health York site, including a COVID-19 antigen test that and also an equine, animal health lateral flow test.

All I am suggesting is that from a cash pov, invoices will have been sent and presumably paid in the time between the last accounts and now, adding to the cash balance.
Obviously the approx £5m from the govt is still owing.

Lateral flow tests to be introduced for vaccinated international arrivals.

From 24 October fully vaccinated passengers and most under 18s arriving in England from countries not on the red list can take a cheaper lateral flow test, on or before day 2 of their arrival into the UK. These can be booked from 22 October...

...The list of approved private providers will go live on GOV.UK on 22 October...

...The government will extend regulations and publish protocol to allow some tests supplied to the private testing market that are pending validation to remain on the market in the short term. This is to address any potential shortage of supply...

eddy,

I would chill out.
Don't let others' views depress you. They are guilty of bias in talking their own book. Ask yourself, why would someone spend time making up negative stories? I can guarantee they are not doing it for free!

They are trying to influence the share price by creating a climate of fear. Posts don't even need to contain any facts to create negativity.

Jaks post is partly true, but leaves out the main reason why a large amount of capital was spent, ie a new factory was built, and an existing one upgraded.
In fact the upgrade was planned long before covid, and was the main reason for the capital raise and listing.

Vatic is just around the corner.

Changes to the requirements for LFT's are due tomorrow, things could then get much more interesting.

Whenever someone posts something negative, just copy and past this one below it!
