    ABERFORTH SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST plc

Additional Listing

Application will be made for the admission of 963,311 Ordinary Shares of
1 pence each fully paid to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority
and  to trading on the main market of the London Stock Exchange, ranking
pari  passu with the existing Ordinary Shares. It is expected that  this
admission will become effective on 9 April 2003.

These  Ordinary  Shares are being allotted pursuant to the  exercise  of
rights  to  subscribe  for  such Ordinary Shares  of  1  pence  each  in
accordance with the rights of Warrantholders.

Following  the  admission  of  these  Ordinary  Shares,  there  will  be
84,818,734 Ordinary Shares in issue. No Warrants remain in issue.
