09/10/2012 16:26 | Suspect that they are closing now hence the strength here (no pullbacks - which is odd) or they are trying to buy back at any rate. that is what is creating the strength here. They have about 11 million shares to buy back betweeen them at a rough estimate. | undervaluedassets
09/10/2012 13:20 | Excellent performance indeed. Once they announce positions closed this will be 360+ in a flash | shammytime
09/10/2012 12:10 | New multi year highs. One can only assume - as we have not heard - that Blackrock and CQS have yet to rescue their short positions. AAIW AAIF AAS ABD ANW ABAA The above still storming (+ 7% since start of August). CQS and Blackrock positions in ADN are as much as 24% underwater. You short the junk surely not the good stuff? | undervaluedassets
05/10/2012 11:47 | they are being bought back that is the point and bullish | weemonkey
05/10/2012 07:35 | undervalue, how do you know about these shorts please ? chart for adn looks very good and share price slowly but surely moving higher and quite a way from resistance level. | arja
02/10/2012 14:55 | Nice volume building here. Could get to 350 very quickly | shammytime
01/10/2012 16:23 | One assumes a few shorts got bought back today. And why not - Company performing, no resistance to 380. Volume average today - And those shorts still outstanding yet to be bought back yet. | undervaluedassets
01/10/2012 08:15 | Blackrock blinked again and bought back a bit more of their short. Need to buy back another 3-4 million shares to be flat. CQS are heavily underwater on their short as well (-18% on the July position alone - ouch) . Surely that will need to be bought back. Meanwhile Aberdeen's products are flying esp the investment trusts. ABAA AAIF ABD ANW AAS AAIW have put on 28% in aggregate since January 2012. And 4% in September - usually a horrid month. | undervaluedassets
26/9/2012 07:15 | LetsGetBizzay - a terrible ramp attempt. Just concentrate on the numbers, no need to ramp a company as strong as this | shammytime
24/9/2012 16:23 | I hope not. Bid talk A rampy distraction. ICAP are not even remotely similiar business. We need to focus on the numbers. And from the recent statement and the increase in 'higher margin business' highlighted the next results are clearly set to be a record. | weemonkey
24/9/2012 16:20 | 400p this week. I wonder if rumours of iCap buying this are true | letsgetbizzay
24/9/2012 16:16 | never mind the chart - results set to be a record on the back of that statement one would expect. | weemonkey
24/9/2012 11:02 | not so sure with the dow futures tanking today but still ADN has a great looking chart . | arja
24/9/2012 09:16 | Very good statement indeed. Expecting a strong run to 350 this week for sure. 380 will be breached in the coming months. The company is in far better shape than when it was last at 380p | letsgetbizzay
24/9/2012 08:34 | strong statement. On balance Story seems to be that money is coming into the higher margin products. What a turn around in flows into equities . And I thought the 'cult of equities was dead' - Not according to those numbers. | undervaluedassets
17/9/2012 10:06 | I see no resistance between here and £3.80 which was last traded at in 2001. And what a different company - when this was last at £3.80 this company traded on a pe of 40 odd. Growth is much stronger now and yet the shares much cheaper. Poster child Asset manager showing the world how it is done. | undervaluedassets
17/9/2012 08:45 | AAIW AAIF AAS ABD ANW ABAA put on 3% in aggregate on Friday alone. | weemonkey
13/9/2012 16:22 | Gone long here lovely breakout and solid fundies.... Forward P/E of just over 12 to 2013 seems very stingy. 12/9/2012 12:35 | On 7/09 Blackrock blinked and bought a few of their shorts back... Take a look at these AAIW AAIF AAS ABD ANW ABAA I think Blackrock will blink again | undervaluedassets
06/9/2012 14:11 | And Again:- . Breaking out ... £3.00 looks a cinch and then there is minor resistance at £3.50 and then £3.80 is the next major resistance. One has to look back to 2002 to find these resistance points. It is blue sky from here really from a technical standpoint...And Why not... Shorts have yet to buy back....company is performing creditably. This company is very diferent animal from the 2002 one. 5 year compounded earnings growth rate of 32% yet PE 18. modest. Why would anyone sell now ? Going to win lots of new customers on the the back of the great performance of it's products. | undervaluedassets
05/9/2012 13:33 | They have done it again. Impressive. Those shorts will get bought back now one would imagine. | weemonkey
12/8/2012 08:21 | A Few shorts being bought back here one feels. The fundamentals are just too strong. I have been researching their investment trusts: Since the March 09 lows there have been some amazing performances: ABAA + 102% AAIF + 114 % ABD + 141% ANW + 178% AAS + 241% AAIW + 702 % (We all wish we had bought that one don't we) And they have a multiplicity of investment awards ( ADN are doing very well selling these products on the back of such stellar performances. You short the rubbish companies surely not the the good ones? Shorting here looks strange to say the least . | weemonkey
08/8/2012 15:27 | poster child investment trust provider currently. Everyone wants their products. | weemonkey |
