Indeed RTW1. The next stage in the total transformation of VS and, by implication, LEG.

Whilst we are all concentrating on today's RNS and the prospects for VS, don't forget our other holdings (effectively in the price for nothing) and our cash.

I'm expecting the next announcement to be that Zaf has brokered a deal to increase our VS holding from 7 to 10%.

Then after that, a revaluation of VS.

Methinks the 1p party may start sooner than many expect, but hopefully not until I've got the wife's pension pot up to speed here!

Well done RTW: totally vindicated. And an even bigger hand for Zafar who bought into VS at a £2m valuation: visionary stuff. Prof, look at the implications of this RNS: the NHS is the biggest buying organisation in Europe, and they have accepted VS, so imagine who else will be queuing up to use this software. We aren't looking at a unicorn, but a decacorn.

Also folks, don't forget that there is another NHS savings driver quietly clunking away under most people's radar - "STPs" - Sustainability and Transformation Plans.

"But STPs are driven by the Treasury. They are focused on reducing NHS spend. In south-east London, for instance, the STP has to bridge a £1.015bn gap in NHS funding over five years to 2020/21. Across the capital, councils face a £900m gap in social care funding to 2019/20.

Many places in the country are in worse shape, but unless STPs meet the funding demands of the Treasury, the plans will not be approved and areas will not receive any transformation money.

Examination of the plans so far suggests many areas where plans and the savings linked to them have heroic underlying assumptions. It appears that some figures are double-counted. The evidence underpinning the claims for benefit and savings are uncertain. Efficiency savings required from NHS trusts are punishing. It is only recently that, in south-east London, plans have actually acknowledged that social care is underfunded."

All pretty heavy going but watch out for an STP near you.

I hope for all holders there is more upside here? There will be many that bought in at the +0.4 levels on anticipation of this RNS! Surely a deal with the NHS is worth more than the current SP? Don't VS still need to identify the other 2 household names also? GLA

Must say I think this deal does now, at last, give VS much added credibility within the NHS. Having 10 large teaching hospitals signed up will make other Trusts take serious note. The system is so strapped for cash and with NHS procurement being such a complete shambles (been there, got the T-shirt) then if using VS can demonstrate such significant savings it has to be a no brainer.
